This week is Construction Safety Week, and here at Optima, we're thinking beyond the jobsite. During Mental Health Awareness Month, it is a reminder that safety includes both physical conditions and mental well-being. When we recognize, respond, and respect both, we create safer teams and stronger outcomes. That is why we prioritize time together outside of work, with team events, outings, and opportunities to connect, because looking out for each other is part of the job. #AllInTogether #MentalHealthMatters #ConstructionSafetyWeek

As the educational landscape continues to evolve, staying connected to new ideas and collaborative solutions is more important than ever. We’re excited to have leaders across multiple offices representing Optima Engineering at the 2026 @a4le.nc Conference, “Adapting Education Spaces for Changing Tides.” This year’s theme highlights the importance of designing flexible, forward-thinking learning environments that can respond to shifting needs in education, funding, and community impact. Optima is also proud to support this year’s conference as a #LanyardSponsor, helping keep connections front and center throughout the event. From innovative design strategies to meaningful collaboration, we’re proud to have our team engaging in conversations that help shape spaces where students can thrive, now and for generations to come. #OptimaEngineering #A4LE #K12Design #EducationalFacilities #EngineeringExcellence

In honor of National Volunteer Week and Earth Day, we’re recognizing the impact our teams make beyond the office. Giving back is an important part of who we are at Optima, and we’re proud to support the communities we serve. Our Raleigh team volunteered on the farm with @foodshuttle , helping clean and harvest fresh produce in support of their mission to end hunger across seven North Carolina counties. It was a rewarding and impactful experience for our team. Our Charlotte team also participated in #CleanTheQueen2026, joining Envision Charlotte to recycle old t-shirts into sound panels, dog beds, and rugs, keeping the fabric out of landfills. Interested in being part of a team that gives back? Connect with us to learn more about careers at Optima Engineering.

At Optima Engineering, we believe strong leadership is the foundation of a thriving team and lasting impact. Our President, Steve Daley, P.E., recently joined the Impactful Leader Podcast to share insights from his leadership journey, highlighting the importance of investing in people, building a strong culture, and developing the next generation of leaders. From lessons learned early in his career to the experiences that shape his approach today, Steve offers a thoughtful perspective on what it means to lead with purpose. Thanks for the great conversation, Chris! 🎧 Listen to the full conversation at the link in our bio.

What a night! 🍀 Since opening our Greenville office in October 2024, we’ve had the privilege of working alongside so many great clients and partners to support projects across our community. The Greenville office’s inaugural St. Patrick’s Day Client Party is our way to say thank you and celebrate the work we’re doing together. From raffle prizes and great conversations to kicking off St. Patrick’s Day weekend in true Greenville style, it was a night we won’t forget. Guests also brought donations to support the @greenvillehumane , helping extend the impact of the evening to a cause close to our community. We’re grateful for the partnerships that make this work possible and excited for all that’s ahead. Thank you @leftysgvl for being wonderful hosts! #OptimaEngineering #GreenvilleSC #ClientAppreciation #GreenvilleHumaneSociety #YeahThatGreenville

At Optima Engineering, our services go beyond system design — they’re about creating efficient, reliable, and maintainable buildings that serve their users well. It is our responsibility to our clients to do what is right every time, not just what is easiest. Being the best means our project managers look at each job from the viewpoint of the owner or end user. From early planning through construction and commissioning, our team collaborates closely with owners and design partners to deliver solutions that perform as intended.

Happy Engineers Week from Optima Engineering ⚡🎉 Where would we be without engineers? No comfortable classrooms. No safe fire stations. No bright libraries. No reliable power. No clean water. No bridges. No innovation pushing our communities forward. Engineers Week is all about celebrating the problem-solvers, big thinkers, and detail lovers who quietly shape the world around us every single day. We’re proud to stand alongside mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineers (and our friends in the civil, structural, industrial, and every other engineering discipline out there), making life work better. Since 1992, Optima has been designing systems that keep our communities running safely, efficiently, and sustainably. We're looking forward to seeing where the next generation of PE's will take us.

From 1970s lecture hall to next-generation campus venue. Swipe to see the transformation. What was once a dated hall with limited flexibility has been reimagined into a high-performance, visually dynamic campus venue. GF approached the renovation as both a technical upgrade and a design reset. The stepped seating bowl remains, but the experience is entirely new. A redesigned ceiling plane introduces bold geometric acoustic clouds that improve sound quality while creating a strong visual identity overhead. The removal of the raised stage and backstage areas improves accessibility and sightlines, while a new center aisle strengthens circulation and connection. Upgraded seating, including 15% powered for device charging, supports today’s tech-enabled learning environments. New lighting, AV system, updated HVAC distribution, and enhanced life-safety systems ensure the auditorium performs seamlessly for lectures, ceremonies, special events, and E-sports. There are only 10 Net Zero Energy buildings certified across North and South Carolina — and Optima Engineering designed all 10. Net Zero Energy (NZE) buildings are designed to produce as much renewable energy as they consume each year. Achieving this level of performance takes intentional, integrated engineering across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems from the very beginning. This milestone reflects Optima Engineering’s leadership in high-performance, sustainable design and our commitment to helping clients create efficient, future-ready buildings that serve communities for decades to come.
