Got some new stuff here for your perusal. The 'Metropolis Mosey' EP (Gnosis 006). Had fun putting this one together, and a vibe kind of emerged with the tracks and their names, so I ended up making the whole EP have a story of sorts. And I actually wrote a little scene setting story to accompany it, which is on my Bandcamp page - link in bio.
I sometimes write little stories just for fun, and I’d written one before about a guy in the future working at an air purification tower - which is where I got the idea for the name ‘Carbon Towers’ for my Symbolism EP. I returned to that world for this EP, in a sense… 🏙️ Optimistic modernist futurist vibes, but also with that 80s cyberpunk flavour...
No AI was used for the story btw - I resent that we live in times where I have to point that out, tbh!
This is exclusive to Bandcamp for a week, then I will be putting it on other platforms, and doing a promo send out after that.

Few recent jams 💨🎶
All entirely outboard used on these, just a master bus recording into the DAW. Not the most refined approach, and I don't always do it this way, but it's the best for capturing pure vibes and injecting that soul into the tunes, both in terms of the sound (layers of analog distortion/saturation at multiple points in the chain, and crosstalk in the old mixer) but also in capturing a performance, rather than 'building' the sequence in the DAW.

After my recent story about royalties from EU clubs or festivals seemingly not showing in my PRS statements, I got loads of messages from other artists wondering the same thing...and also pertinent info from others that do have some idea. Along with some online research, I've put what I found out on here so some of you might learn a thing or two. Seems MRT (music recognition technology) similar to Shazam is going to be the new paradigm taking over from DJ tracklist submissions. In Germany this system is pretty well established. Elsewhere, not so much. Pay outs are currently small and can take years to be processed.
In any case hope some of this info helps. I felt dumb asking, but I'm glad I did 😁🤓 Also, once again, RIP @asliceofficial - we miss you.

As much as I cringe posting stuff like this, I do really want to express my gratitude to all those that enjoyed my music this past year. I honestly never imagined I'd be putting out two @ilian_tape records in the space of one year (or ever), so it's been a surreal year. Not to mention that Mall To Beach 80, the A side of my first IT EP, is probably my favourite track I've ever created, and one I thought was a little too weird to ever get released. Big thanks to the @zenker_brothers for their trust and vision.
It's been a year of huge highs and extreme lows, but I guess such is life. I've not taken gigs in a while for some health and mental health reasons, but I'm tentatively hoping that might change in the New Year...
Hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and could detach a bit from the crazy-making internet news cycle that is driving us all a bit mental. IMO it's worth striving to judge less, and open your mind to different opinions more, because algorithms and echo chambers - and the internet cult leaders, politicians and media figures that utilise them all too effectively - are making us all into ideological and political enemies, about matters that are often (nearly always) more complicated and nuanced than we're led to believe.
Enough of that though 😅 enjoy your new year. Plenty of new tunes to come from me in 2026, a few snippets of which you'll find in the vids above.

Just added Gnosis Archive 7 to my Bandcamp page. This is where I pick stuff that nearly came out on labels in the past, or were played a lot but never ended up getting signed. The lead track here for example was going to go on Construct Reform before it went into hibernation, and was in @zadig_aka_ksa sets for a good while back circa 2017. The other two cuts are from 2021-ish.
Some stripped percussive groove tools, essentially, hope they come in handy to some of you 😎

Little jam from last week. Ended up with two fairly distinct tracks from this 18 min session, as you can hear here. Using reverb swells, feedback loops, overdriven mid range EQ sweeps (this Tascam mixer has a cool mid frequency sweep eq between 250Hz to 5kHz) and playing with mod/filter stuff on the actual units on the fly to get that live energy. Making sounds here are: an Elektron Analog Rytm (drums and samples), Roland TR8S (drums), Volca FM (synth from clip 3 onwards), Korg Minilogue (bass), and Eventide FX x2. All going through the Tascam M-216 and Elektron Analog Heat. Master bus recording as usual.
