Author: Anna Kamińska @ankatecture Title: The Institute of Revolutionary Health Description: “This project reimagines the Wormwood Scrubs Prison site as the Institute of Revolutionary Health: a vision of ‘Public Luxury’ where access to health and expressive architecture is a right, not a privilege. Developed around a structural logic of repetition, the proposal features a series of glulam screens forming the basis for three greenhouses and core towers, all connected to four masonry blocks. The design supports a wider programme focused on reuse and sustainability. The Radical Hedonism group (Anna Kamińska, Imene Aida Merzougui @iam__arch_ , Jay Patel @jayp.arch ) celebrates the idea that architecture can host collective rituals - festivals, meals, gatherings. The proposal explores how built space can nurture community. What was once a space of isolation is reimagined as a civic playground, full of flavour, rhythm, and joy.” Studio: DS15 Studio @ds15studio Professors: Sean Griffiths @sean_griffiths1 and Matteo Sarno @matteo.lnd School: University of Westminster @uniwestminster @openstudio_wm

Some key pages from my TS3 Sourcebook | Year 3 ☀️🌧️💨❄️ This work focuses on developing a technically driven proposal for later-life housing, where environmental performance directly informs design decisions. Climate analysis, including sun paths and prevailing winds, is used to guide orientation, shading, and ventilation strategies. The project aims to reduce operational energy through passive systems while maintaining comfortable, stable internal conditions. Spatially, the scheme explores a modular village layout that supports independence alongside shared community spaces. #uow #architecture #architecturestudent

Authors: Saif Dino Sanoufe @sfsarc Title: Delirious Manchester: Automonument 2040 Description: “Automonument 2040 is a speculative proposal responding to the cancellation of the northern leg of HS2. Set at Piccadilly Plaza in Manchester, historically tied to the Industrial Revolution and now reframed as the UK’s AI capital, the project reclaims the abandoned site to ask whether physical connections might be replaced by digital networks. Borrowing from Rem Koolhaas’ notion of the Automonument in Delirious New York, the tower is both monumental and hyper efficient, exposing infrastructures that usually remain hidden. Combining energy systems, data servers, wind turbines, and cooling infrastructure, it addresses Manchester’s projected 2040 demands for electricity, heat, and connectivity. Constructed from recycled HS2 components and e-waste, the tower critiques the short lifespan of mega-infrastructure while aligning with the government’s AI Growth Zones plan. Public spaces punctuate its dense grid of systems, reframing energy, data, and networks as visible architecture that questions how infrastructures shape collective urban futures.” Professor: Paolo Zaide @paolozaide Tom Budd @tombudd Studio: @uow_studio4 School: University of Westminster @uniwestminster @openstudio_wm
