Xeme @xememex is a Hong Kong based artist whose distinct textual style has marked the city in bold strokes since 2001. Since then, he has primarily dedicated his art form to letters and abstract patterns.
His work evolves constantly but is always rooted in his graffiti background, from painting in Chinese characters to Chinese calligraphy on his canvas works. Huang Liwei (aka whyyy) @whyyyarts has been using spray paint as his primary medium since 2001. Recognized as a pioneer of mural art in China, his practice is rooted in wall painting while extending into canvas and installation. His work avoids overt conceptual statements, much like the artist himself—naturally embodying the energy of Western urban art alongside the spiritual depth of Eastern traditions.
In recent years, his practice has increasingly focused on reflections on “time” and “space.” Through an abstract visual language and a direct, intuitive approach, he invites viewers into his world. In his work, time is no longer linear but unfolds as a continuous flow, where beginnings and endings dissolve into one another. Space expands beyond physical constraints into a multidimensional field.
Within this evolving framework, Liwei encourages reflection on humanity’s relationship with nature and the connections between past, present, and future. His work suggests an open field of possibilities, where the raw spirit of Western urban art meets the enduring wisdom of Eastern philosophy.

GAS @gas_kb began painting graffiti on the streets at the age of 15. Long active in China’s street culture scene, he is among the earliest creators in the country to consistently engage in both graffiti practice and community organizing. His work is rooted in Chinese characters and employs the negative color relationship of photographic film to express the idea of subject-object reversal triggered by the act of photography. He holds an unyielding commitment to individual dignity and self-reflection. His egalitarian and sincere nature has allowed him to build trust with fellow creators across age and background, leading to sustained collective actions.
Throughout his long career, GAS has never been content to repeat his own signature style. His works from different periods take on distinctly different forms, as he constantly seeks to break established formal logic. The “Qi” series is one of the central themes running through his 20 years of creation. He persistently explores graffiti writing through his concept of the written word.
GAS 15岁开始在街头使用喷漆进行涂鸦创作,长期活跃于中国街头文化现场,是国内较早一批持续进行涂鸦实践与组织工作的创作者之一。他的创作题材以中文为基础,运用相片胶卷成像的反色关系,表达作品主体与客体之间因拍摄而产生的彼此对调置换的观念。他对个体的尊严与自省有着近乎执着的坚持,这种对等且真诚的个性,使他与许多创作者建立起跨越年龄与身份背景的信任,并持续共同行动。

SATR @satrxx has been engaged in street art since 2013. She has developed a distinctive spray-paint technique based on mist-like form construction, giving her depictions of animals a strong sense of movement, as if shaped by vapor and air. In contrast to the realism of Western oil painting, her practice investigates the translucency of spray paint in graffiti, allowing her work to retain an ink-like sensibility even outside the use of traditional Chinese painting tools.
As a result, SATR’s works reveal a fusion of Western graffiti’s raw expressiveness and the softness of Eastern painting traditions. This balance of fluidity and intensity runs throughout her practice. Her signature, inspired by ancient seal carving, further serves as an Eastern marker she consistently embeds within her visual language.
SATRSATR 自13年开始接触街头艺术至今。她独创的喷漆雾化形体塑造法,使其笔下的动物极具动感,以雾为形。不同于西方油画的写实塑造,将涂鸦喷漆的通透感研究深刻,使其作品在剥离中国传统绘画工具外,依旧有水墨韵味。
故此 SATR 作品中能看到西方涂鸦深刻的狂放与东方画法的柔和写意,这股柔美的狂放一直贯穿在其作品中。古老篆刻印章式的签名,都是她向外界传递的东方印记。

Pang Fan (Fansack), @fansack born in 1988 in Chengdu, is active between Paris and Chengdu. Since engaging in street art in 2003, he has developed a distinctive visual language. In 2008, he moved to France to study at Aix-Marseille University and Sorbonne University, establishing a cross-cultural foundation for his practice.
Working across painting, murals, and spatial installations, his practice draws on Eastern aesthetics and mysticism, integrating contemporary street culture with visual art contexts. Through the deconstruction and recomposition of imagery from Chinese tradition and subcultures, he constructs a visual language that combines spirituality, poetic sensibility, and contemporary expression. His works unfold between meditative stillness and underlying tension, reflecting an ongoing dialogue between individual consciousness and the present.
