I am very #grateful and have a lot of #gratitude as I write this post. In typical #standup style, I need to create some context here. I came to this country #netherlands in 2011. I was newly married and did not know how my life would shape up in anyway. I slowly started finding my feet and ground here. At one point, I was telling myself ( after lot of coaching and mentoring) what am I doing for myself? How do I be myself more? Around that time I met with a group of friends and @itzjaihere2020 said Sahana why don’t you go and talk all this bukwas ( bull shit) on stage. At that time . I was introduced to @surmeetlamba from @serioustimepassfilms who wanted to do something with comedy! And yes, as filmy as it sounds that was my beginning of discovering myself.
I have lots of love and respect for these two individuals!
Now comes the struggle of really being in it , and making time for family and pursuing something on the side. None of this would have been possible without vasuki ( who is the butt of all my jokes and helping me manage this alternate life)
And then comes a day like yesterday that my friends I will take to my grave. My 5 mins of fame. Thanks a ton @uroojashfaq for just being you and being so open to me. Helping me develop my craft and sharing some amazing tips.
And I want to write a lot of things, but right now I am high! High on being me , high of loving me the way I am ( and it has taken a lot of work, yes comedy helps you realize that you suck a lot and helps you accept yourself too). Thanks to everyone who came and encouraged me! I am on top of this world till my eyes meet the pile of laundry waiting for me!!!

Today is World Laughter Day. For me, it feels like every day 😄
I’m always chasing that moment when someone laughs because of something I said. It’s a small thing, but it makes me feel like I’ve given them a few seconds of happiness.
