🍊🗽🎨⚖️ Just a snippet, from yesterday's IG Live. Thank you so much @oikerry ! It was a really lovely way to hold space together for #creativity, the #arts and #justice. This is just a tiny portion... giving a shout out to the #orlandoartscene & our #Floriduh roots.
That’s all. @legalaidnyc
This was my first choice placement. Very much looking to this summer at Legal Aid and learning from this amazing team. 🙌🏼

This May Day we're sharing two opportunities to take part in the Fall of Freedom art movement ( a nationwide movement amplifying art as a tool for creative resistance and uniting artists in the commitment to stand up against authoritarianism, fascism, and repression).

Day Ones. Almost through with 2L with the Best Pookies around. For Life type ish. Grateful for you and my @cunylaw crew and to be on this journey with you. Always gotta ask the think tank. 60+ lawyers to be and all the friend fams. Love you people.
Loving this little corner of home this morning. It has me thinking of the Pueblo Bonito Inn in Santa Fe. Mural by me, and painting above the bed by @chrisxbank , one of my favorite pieces I get to live with.
Really great screening and director’s talk for Maintenance Artist @ifccenter , the new-ish documentary about the incredible Mierle Laderman Ukeles, artist in residence @nycsanitation dept since 1977. We met her once in @sarahjdubs class @purchasemfa and to see her work again in the context of working with community lawyering @cunylaw was really solidifying because the work is so similar. She could do things with this project law couldn’t, but lawyering for communities can do things art can’t. But her process is like advocacy work. And good advocacy work can learn from art.
It’s all social support and sculpture and you chose your tools in the most beautiful and impactful ways. She did for these men with a handshake what the city couldn’t do with a federal bailout.
Happy to see it with legal eagle @wtf_just_happened_ bc always WTF Just happened.
@corinakennedy Ukeles just turned 86. 🤯
Screenings and panels are the new Netflix and Google rabbithole. Go outside. 🫶
Seed meditation with wise amazing @jemila_macewan in Washington Square Park.
My second time sitting with her but first this year. Today we meditated on the theme of grief. This photo is as grief is sometimes, a shaded dark purple in a sunny normal sunny day. But see how joyful it is? 🤣 Just wants to be seen. 😂
One of my favorite things about this project is the Being in communication with feelings and parts of the human experience. But also Jemila as a both sharer and steward of those things. It’s also amazing to witness her as an open and thoughtful resident of the park each year. It’s nice to experience the park with her in this way and to talk to the parts of the park along with the parts of yourself.
And what a day for it. Sunned, sated, and ready to go back to my writing today.
