‘𝒜 ℒ𝑜𝓃𝑔 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒰𝓃𝒸𝑒𝓇𝓉𝒶𝒾𝓃 𝒫𝒶𝓉𝒽’ 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬 & 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐕𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 is an artis­tic col­lec­ti­ve for­med by 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐕𝐫𝐢𝐣𝐬𝐞𝐧 and 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬. Working bet­ween mate­ri­al imita­ti­on and spe­cu­la­ti­ve research, they use pain­ting, dra­wing, instal­la­ti­on, and archi­val frag­ments to explo­re the rela­ti­ons­hip bet­ween mat­ter and memo­ry. Their work ques­ti­ons how his­to­ries are pre­ser­ved, silen­ced, or reimagined. During their Off the Grid residency, this approach took the form of a dispersed inquiry across Leuven- its collections, storages, museums, and historical libraries. Guided by curiosity rather than destination, they traced what tends to remain peripheral: hidden and incomplete objects. Drawings, notes, and sound recordings register this movement. They cre­a­te tem­po­ra­ry labo­ra­to­ries during resi­den­cies, whe­re mate­ri­al expe­ri­ments and artis­tic metho­do­lo­gies can be tested col­lec­ti­ve­ly. Astrid Goubert bezoekt de studio's van @cascoleuven & @offthegrid_leuven en zal in gesprek gaan met onze residenten. Daarnaast maakt hij kennis met ons programma en zal zijn eigen praktijk introduceren tijdens een publiek gesprek. Het gesprek is vrij bij te wonen en begint om 12:00. Bio ✏️ Als cura­tor en onder­zoe­ker werkt Astrid Goubert op het snij­punt van heden­daag­se kunst, erf­goed, geschie­de­nis en publie­ke ruim­te. Met een focus op site spe­ci­fie­ke kunst­op­drach­ten rea­li­seer­de ze afge­lo­pen jaren samen met bur­gers en kun­ste­naars (per­ma­nen­te) kunst­in­stal­la­ties. In het ver­le­den deed Astrid erva­ring op bij Gladstone Gallery, STUK in Leuven, Contour Mechelen en Nino Mier Gallery in Brussel. Within that pro­gram­me, he has been tea­ching the cour­se ​“Legal Framework of the Cultural Sector” for seve­r­al years. He is cur­rent­ly wor­king with artist Scott W. Raby on a pro­ject cal­l­ed BoA (Bureau of Analogies), in which they use ana­lo­gies bet­ween the arts sec­tor and non-artis­tic sec­tors to con­duct research on lan­gu­a­ge, poli­cy, pre­ca­ri­ty, and rela­ted the­mes.

Deze objecten, die buiten het zicht van het publiek worden bewaard, dragen latente verhalen met zich mee die vaak door archiefsystemen het zwijgen zijn opgelegd. Waar sommigen louter overblijfselen uit het verleden zien, zijn Stans & Sofia geïnteresseerd in het potentieel van de objecten voor projectie: wat deze nog kunnen activeren, verplaatsen of tot stand brengen. CKV: Workshop Archief in de artistieke praktijk ⚡️ (English below) NL Op 29 januari presenteert het CKV, Centrum Kunstarchieven Vlaanderen, een masterclass in archief­zorg voor kun­ste­naars: hoe beheer je je eigen (digi­ta­le) archie­ven. Deze work­shop richt zich op prak­ti­sche metho­den voor het archi­ve­ren van je praktijk. We staan stil bij de vol­gen­de vra­gen: ​‘Wat is een kun­ste­naars­ar­chief?’ en ​‘Waarom is het belang­rijk om zorg te dra­gen voor je archief?’ Vervolgens nemen we je aan de hand van prak­ti­sche voor­beel­den mee in de eer­ste stap­pen om een archief te bewa­ren, te sor­te­ren, te beschrij­ven en te ont­slui­ten. De workshop is gratis bij te wonen en is Engelstalig. This work­shop focu­ses on prac­ti­cal methods for archi­ving your practice. This work­shop offers an intro­duc­ti­on to archi­ve care. We will address ques­ti­ons such as: What is an artist’s archi­ve? and Why is it impor­tant to care for your archi­ve? Using prac­ti­cal examples, we’ll gui­de you through the first steps of pre­ser­ving, sor­ting, descri­bing, and making an archi­ve acces­si­ble. The workshop is free to attend and will be held in English.
