Yesterday was the day I have been stressing about since August. A small idea, long nights of talking to myself internally. I can’t take all of the credit. This was Lacey’s idea to begin with but I took it and we ran with it, full force. Instead of annoying people with flyer spam about a show for months, I built a community, a support system of people with the same compassion. Last night proved that.
Hard Love was slam packed, not with just people, but with love, raw energy and passion. Everyone was there for the same reason, standing in solidarity;
it was beautiful to say the least.
We raised $3000 in cash for FOJA (Friends of Jacksonville Animals) and received hundreds of donated items for the animal services officers and animals of Animal Care & Protective Services (we will make another post about this soon too!)
