The Traka Adventure 🏔️
My goal was to finish feeling strong, and I think I made it. Definitely not easy, but still joyful. We were lucky with the weather; neither too hot nor too cold. The amazing landscapes and great people around were the best motivational combo.
I wasn’t racing for positions, though I spent months preparing for this event, mostly working on the mental aspects; decision-making, problem-solving, mental clarity, and resiliency. And of course, spending as much time as possible on the bike.
I was scared before the start, mostly uncertainty. It was going to be my longest gravel ride ever. Anyways, everything went perfectly fine. Nutrition and digestion were just right, I managed to sleep 1h30min during the night, plus a power nap 130km before the finish. No unnecessary suffering at all.
Cheers to
@mariacapdeviladc and
@diego_aravena for sharing the best climbs with me and making those moments more pleasant.
My
@falkenjagd wasn’t probably the fastest bike in the event, but still my favourite one. Grateful to have a bike that every day feels more like a part of me.
Thanks a lot
@jamesmarkhayden and
@sherry.cycling for the advice and support, also to
@frasen_wheelworks and
@exploracicles for making sure my bike was ready to roll. And, of course to my family and friends following online.
