Nothing too formal—just few limited dishes from them, BASTARD classics, and some good wines!

Thank you to Ash to do her last pop up under @Chungkingnoodles in Shanghai! We had the pleasure to have her noodles & various Berlin-Chinese creations. Sadly they just announced their closure and are open only until end of April in Berlin :(
So dear friends all over the world if you see this post, please support those restaurants, cafes, shops, bookstores, clubs that you love or care about. Because one day it might not be there anymore. We’ve seen so many places closed especially last few years in Shanghai. This is a people business, so GO & SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE!!! Chungking means much more than just a bowl of noodles.

Coming up FIRST for Horse Year 🐎 - we welcome our friend Ash Lee @flamingleelee from Berlin @chungkingnoodles@offmenu_eats who’s been doing pop ups around the world to finally cook in her hometown!
As a Shanghai native forged by 20 years of experience in Berlin and Paris, chef Ash brings a fun menu of offbeat flavours and combinations to the table, such as Strange Flavour Burrata and Clam & Salsiccia BBQ Stir-Fry.

Saw the com about this one-evening, 4 hands and there was no way we were missing it. We all know by now that I am a big fan of Ash Lee‘s pop-ups (Chinese schnitzel, sandwiches and ofc noodles). Pair it with one of Paris’s best Pizzaiolas and it’s a guaranteed winning combo 🤝🏼 It was as amazing as expected. Very unexpected personal fav tho: the potato pizza with cream base. I am team red base, always, but this one blew us all away. Close second was the mapo tofu version, with that Sichuan kick I personally love 🌶️🫶🏼 Writing this, I’m seriously considering starting a petition to make this evening happen again.
