Running a marathon is mental... as in, it's totally insane in the membrane, as in, so much of the battle is in your head. And as someone who goes to battle with their head in general, it's quite an amazing thing to try and conquer your brain. I am not a natural born mind over matter woman. My mind loves to win over matter.
During a long run (whatever that looks like to you), you get to tell your brain to shut up!! And it has to listen! (Obviously quite a lot going on in the legs, too, but honestly, especially at the end, it's your brain that sabotages you)
But a marathon? Whew! I can't believe we do them! I can't believe I did another one? Probs gonna do another one!
Thank you so much to
@sports_tours_international for my spot at Paris, truly beautiful and I was having the time of my life until about 30km, when I started to think that, actually, I'd really like an iced oat latte and a little sit down.
It was hilly! It was BUSY! It was much better than Berlin because I didn't cry! Slay!
I absolutely love the training part and then it gets close to a race and I'm like?? Haha that's funny that past me signed me up to this, what a little joker!!!
Never let anyone make you think a marathon is easy, it's totally nuts how the last few km are just bonkers, you simply want to lie on the floor, but you don't!! You keep going! And then you get given a medal! Which is so nice as an adult when you've outgrown stickers etc for praise🥇
I still can't believe I run? Let alone a two-time marathon runner??
Thanks to
@runna for making me a runner!! Couldn't do it without you!! You can use my code OENONE to try for yourself!
