Rowan Sweeney and Benny Malan will face off at BUCS 2026 in the U93 kg weight class.
Rowan has come down from the 105âs and Benny has come up to the 93âs.
Benny recently hit a massive 707.5 kg at 92.1 kg BW at SUCS 2025, leaving some kilos in the tank on bench and squat and narrowly missing out on his third deadlift to win 93s and be 2nd best male lifter.
Rowan is weighing in at 89.7kg looking to do around 660 in 4 weeks time at London University Qualifiers.Overcoming confidence problems and huge change in bw (-14kg ) Rowan is steadily building back up with plenty of kilos of body weight to gain .
WHO WILL SUB-Total more at BUCS 2026( BENNY THE FORKLIFT deadlifts to much to have a total competition )

@ouplc and @obuplc are delighted to announce that we will be supporting Oxfordshire Mind @oxfordshiremind this November, in support of Menâs Mental Health Awareness Month. Please head to the link in our bio to DONATE.
There is a stigma that âpowerlifters canât runâ, just as there is stigma surrounding menâs mental health. Society often expects men to appear strong, composed, and unaffected, which can make it difficult for many to open up or seek help when struggling. These misconceptions can lead to silence, isolation, and a lack of understanding around menâs mental wellbeing.
Men are less likely to report a suicide attempt, and are around 3 times more likely to die by suicide than women, a gap which has widened over time. Stigma around mental health has recently taken a backwards step, and scores for knowledge, attitudes, and willingness to engage with mental health problems are lower for men than for women. (The Big Mental Health Report, 2025, Mind)
To help challenge these stigmas and improve our own understanding of the daily struggles that many men face in our local community , weâll be stepping out of our comfort zones and taking part in Oxford Park Runs every Saturday throughout November.
3rd overall ⌠not bad for a team established in 2025 đĽ
2nd and 5th best female lifters
5th best male lifter
Beyond proud of everyone
