Heli toe-ins are part of the process for most spine lines in Alaska. Usually the better the line.. the spicier the toe-in. When I’m with a Pilot I trust- I love it. never a scenario we take lightly, everything must be smooth. This is my 4th consecutive year working with Black ops pilot, Nick. At this point we have the process dialed.
This was my favorite toe-in this season. You can see Nick put a skid down that we used as a reference point. Falling off the backside was not an option. As he went in for final approach, we had identified a spot I was good with (a tiny spot). As he first touched down, you can see I ask him to adjust a little so I was less exposed to the backside.
Getting out you gotta be light & smooth.
Once the Heli is gone, it’s one of the best feelings in the world, standing up top all alone.
For this one, my bro
@shredbender199 was on another spine further down the ridge & the boys
