Happy birthday my love! Your 33rd complete lap around the sun, our 10th together, and your very first as a mama to our beautiful boy! You are a force of nature, always holding onto compassion, love, and grace during the hardest parts of newborn baby raising. Ro and I would be a lost cause without you and we love you so much ❤️❤️

So it turns out skinning two laps on the bunny hill involves about one minute of skiing, five minutes of walking, and about 30 minutes of transitioning when someone can’t reach their toes very well. It was pretty silly all around, but Kia got her first turns of the year and now baby has officially downhill skied!
Kia and I recreated our first date today with coffee at Waimea Coffee Co, a hike down into Pololu valley, and a sunset swim at Beach 69. We didn’t take any pictures from that day in January ‘17, so here’s Kia’s 6 month hot mama photoshoot instead 💃🏻 Can’t wait to meet this little one!

And just like that, New Zealand 2025 is over. A month here wasn’t even close to enough, but my fish crazies have settled, our legs are strong, hearts full, clothes are filthy, and whether we like it or not it’s time to head back to winter, Juneau, and work! I’ll hopefully share more pictures and such, but if I don’t get around to it, just know we had the best time. Time to head to the gate!
9 days until we head south once again! My body may be in Juneau, but my brain has been running around the mountains and rivers of the South Island for weeks. Our travel is set, rods packed, and adventures planned - now just focused on staying healthy and channeling some beautiful January weather!!!
