The gratitude runs deep with the love and support for my project “Captiv8”
Captiv8 is a Free dance training program for the LGBTQIA+ community! THIS program is for the marginalized! Those who do not have the finances or support to pay for their dance education!
This program is created from my own personal story and dance journey!
If you are someone who has the talent, commitment, passion, fire and a bit of foundation in dance but don’t know how to continue your training and realize your dream! This program is for You!
If it wasn’t for my first dance teacher Ruth Ashton Blake offering free dance classes and creating a dance company called “All That Dance” I wouldn’t be here Today! That program is where I realized my dreams of becoming a professional dancer! Which has far exceeded my expectations!
Although I had wonderful educators to train me. I didn’t have a place to relate to as a “Black Queer Girl” it was lonely and painful at times! Coming full circle and having an incredible life, personal and professional! Finding my way to love and acceptance of myself! Being “Black & Queer” I am proud to give someone like myself a career and platform that goes beyond what I achieved! This is what Captiv8 is all about!
I had the opportunity to work with the ICONS of our time, learn the industry from the best, take risk, and learn some hard lessons has shaped me and prepared me to create this project!
Captiv8 is a program “for us” by us in the LGBTQ community!
The chosen will be trained and mentored by the very best in our industry!
I am also excited to announce that Captiv8 is set to be a 3-part docu series!

We will also be partnering with LGBTQ homeless shelters and housing facilities to possibly find that diamond of talent!
