Took my best friend to Tennessee and somehow found ourselves living out our wildest dance fantasy, surrounded by some of the most humbling, open-hearted humans I’ve ever met.
Being an Apprentice for the winter intensive with
@the_rippleffect_ was an absolute gift — an intense mental journey that stretched me, grounded me, and filled me with so much joy. Every challenge felt purposeful, every moment deeply rewarding.
Endless gratitude to
@floodpopp and
@justinconte for believing in me and trusting me to create “Take a Seat.” Having mentors and educators who were fully present, deeply supportive, and invested in every step of the process was truly a dream. I wish it didn’t have to end, but I’m forever grateful for everything I absorbed along the way.
To the dancers — thank you for your generosity, vulnerability, and brilliance. Watching you move, listen, and commit so fully was nothing short of inspiring.
To my cast: thank you for trusting me and for working so fearlessly on this piece, for stepping outside the norms, embodying discomfort, and committing to the storytelling with such honesty and courage. You brought this work to life in ways I’ll never forget.
To the other apprentices- the inspirational stamp you guys left me with, is forever in my heart.
Thank you so so much
@lisamovingon for opening your lovely home to Isaiah and I and supporting me and striving in the arts community for the past 2 years- whenever you want a home in Miami, I’m here for you.
And to my best friend —
@isaiahgon — thank you for being endlessly adventurous, for saying yes to every unknown, and for being my constant source of love and support for the past ten years. There is no one else I’d rather share moments like this with.
