London has no shortage of bánh mì. These are the 6 we’d actually go back to. 🥖 📍 Pho Street Eats @phostreeteats — Old Spitalfields Market Mother-daughter stall since 2019. Herbs in fresh every morning, beef bones sourced from East London butchers. 📍 Nha Trang Kitchen @nhatrangkitchen — London markets Pops up at Berwick St, Primrose Hill, and Clapham Common. Vietnamese street food done properly on the go. 📍 My Kids Are Hungry @mykidsarehungry_ — Southbank Vietnamese comfort food at Southbank Centre Food Market. Weekends only. 📍 Hanoi Cà Phê @hanoi_ca_phe — Family-run, Northern Vietnamese style. Pho broth simmered 10+ hours. Bánh mì on the lighter, bread-forward end. 📍 Bánh Mì Hội-An @banhmiaha — Hackney Tiny spot off Hackney Central. No website, weekday lunch only, been quietly going for over a decade. Order the Hoi-An Pork Special. 📍 Bánhs Bakery @banhboxbakery — Dalston They bake the baguette in-house. Opened 2023. The classic comes loaded with five types of pork. Save this for your next bánh mì run. Which one's your go-to? 👇 #NOVAESEA #vietnamstreetfood #londonfoodies #londoneat #asianfood

Her parents fled Vietnam. She grew up in London. Then she quit law and took her mum’s recipes to the streets. Chau has been running @nhatrangkitchen for over ten years — bánh mì, lemongrass chicken, crispy roast pork on a good day at markets across London, seven days a week. The stall is named after the coastal Vietnamese city her mum’s family are from. That detail matters more than it looks. We spoke with Chau to hear how it all started, what people keep getting wrong about Vietnamese food, and why serving it every day has changed how she sees her own culture. We went to Hayward Gallery for Chiharu Shiota. @chiharushiota Left thinking about Yin Xiuzhen.🧵 Two artists, one ticket and honestly one of the most unexpectedly moving gallery visits we’ve had in a while. Shiota’s Letters of Thanks stopped us in our tracks (hundreds of handwritten letters suspended in red thread). But it was Yin Xiuzhen’s suitcases full of cities stitched from real people’s clothes that we kept coming back to. If you’ve ever lived far from home, her work will hit differently. Both exhibitions are on at Hayward Gallery until 3 May Full article at the link in bio. Have you been? What does it feel like to walk into Zao An? “Like going to someone’s house and their parents cook for you.” 🏠🍚 @zaoancollective is an ESEA diaspora café and workers’ collective in London built on the belief that the best hospitality happens when everyone has a real stake in it. Co-founded by Irene and Rihlan, Zao An started inside the ESEA Community Centre and has since grown into its own space: part café, part canteen, part community hub. 👉 Read the full interview — link in bio.
