Couldn't bring my camera to this show, but @therealgza from the legendary Wu Tang Clan absolutely KILLED his set with the @phunkynomads at @nectarlounge last night!
The Genius ran through most of his seminal album, 'Liquid Swords', and even some Wu classics, for the sold out crowd in Fremont. The Phunky Nomads brought a whole new level to every track, and ODB's brother, Ramsay Jones, was a beast on the drums!!
They're doing it again tonight at @airporttav in Tacoma!

The Earth has traveled nearly 584 million miles since you left, returning back to where it was just one year ago.
I keep reminding myself that everything is relative. I keep telling myself that progress isn't always apparent.
Much like this lonely, blue orb of life that we call home, one trip around the Sun can place us back where we started at the end of the year, but we must remember that the Milky Way has moved us farther and faster than we ever care to notice.
It wasn't today that you left, but it was very much today.
You knew I was never good with dates, so maybe you chose Mother's Day, to make it easier for me to remember?
I have to remind myself that you weren't ready to go. That behind the cynicism and sarcasm, that you wanted to stay.
I have few regrets in life. There's always a lesson that can be learned, something to improve upon, as we take the next steps in life's journey.
Yet, I regret not making it home sooner. I regret trusting the oncologist's words. I regret that I let my hope supercede my rationality.
I know that you would tell me to not lose my sense of hope, and I promise it is not gone. It's just different now, forever tinted in the glow of a new light. Different, but the same, much like our place in the Solar system with every passing year.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom. Maybe one day I will get to tell you about everything I've learned through this all.

I got to meet one of my heroes, @therealshawnkemp40 , and he was kind enough to not only chat for a bit, but to sign the card that has been my absolute favorite, since I opened the pack it came from in 1996.
I got to thank The Reign Man for all he does for our community and for inspiring me to play basketball, and was incredibly kind in his response.
I am stupidly happy right now, and am so grateful to have grown up here.

It's always a good day, when I can get some bomb Filipino food from the fine folks at @88cues , especially when they're at the @fremontsundaymarket .
Their combination number 2 comes with your choice of adobo (I always go with the super tender pork belly), pancit bison, and 2 lumpia of your choice (I also highly recommend the pork lumpia!). The dollop of garlic toum on the pancit is packed with so much flavor...it's an absolute game changer.

I was lucky enough to snag the last of this incredible special at @sthooligans last night!
You're looking at some of the best fried catfish I've ever had, sitting atop creamy grits in a delightful crawfish etouffe.
While this special may be gone, S/T Hooligans is consistently serving up some of my favorite food in the city, and is one of the most underrated hidden gems.
Their gangster gumbo, fried chicken sandwich, and Cajun mussels are must-haves, and definitely grab some oysters when they're in season!
