We’re proud to introduce TREAD — a modular mobile studio bringing recording, broadcasting and live performance directly into communities.
Through our community programmes we deliver workshops and youth opportunities across the city.
We also collaborate with brands, festivals and cultural partners on creative activations designed to disrupt the status quo.

shesaid.so and @noodslevels are developing a new online programme for women and gender non-conforming people working across the music industry powered by @backmarket_uk .
The programme will focus on:
- Breaking down barriers to entering and progressing in the music industry
- Understanding gaps in access, knowledge and support across different roles
- Turning real experiences into practical tools, strategies and next steps
The programme will consist of three online sessions in June (open to participants globally), focused on key areas including sync and publishing, marketing and branding, touring, funding, and career development.
Take our short survey (link in bio) by 12th May (survey closes 23:59) to help us understand your background, challenges and support needs and shape the sessions accordingly.

Over the past few months we’ve been building a relationship with the team at @hartcliffecityfarm — running workshops, recording sounds from the space, and exploring how TREAD can support its long-term future.
A bit about the farm: Hartcliffe City Farm is a community-led green space in South Bristol, offering education, training, volunteering and wellbeing support for local residents. It’s a vital hub — connecting people to nature, skills, and each other.
Tomorrow we’re back on site as part of our first Open Space programme with @otrbristol , continuing to explore sound, storytelling and place.
Excited to see where this grows 🍃 🐐
Since launching our TREAD Mobile Studio, we’ve been busy delivering music and sound workshops across Bristol.
One of our favourite stops has been @hartcliffecityfarm — capturing recordings from the farm and exploring sound in a totally different environment.
This Saturday we’re back as part of our Open Space programme, in partnership with @otrbristol
@noodslevels launches TREAD — Open Space
We’re proud to introduce you to Open Space — a new four-part programme exploring field recording and sound culture, delivered on location with @otrbristol and @bristol_bimmuni .
Designed for 18–25 year olds, this series offers hands-on workshops in radio, soundscape creation, and music production — taking sound out of the studio and into the world around us.
Across the programme we’ll be working from:
🐐 Hartcliffe City Farm (@hartcliffecityfarm )
🏰Jacob Wells Baths (@bristoltrinity )
🌳 Leigh Woods (guided by @3rdspacecreative )
This is about listening differently.
Capturing place.
Telling stories through sound.
All workshops are free to attend, with travel support available. Spots are limited. See bio for details ⬆️
🚐 Get involved. Make your mark.
This programme has been funded by @quartetcommunity and @youthmusicuk and created in partnership with @otrbristol

DIASPORA: Roots ‘n’ Radio
Mon 22nd Dec | 8 - 11PM | Ujima Radio
Next Monday, tune into Ujima Radio for a playback of our first Roots ‘n’ Radio - a live community broadcast celebrating radio, culture and togetherness.
🎙 On the Air
Recorded at the Malcolm X Centre and hosted by @angelmelselector , with legendary voices and rising Bristol talent including:
@dj_krust , @mcyallah & @debmaster , @jamell_archives & Marcey, @rebekah.wav , @stormyj_music , @jabani_pj & @lauradiaforever
Plus our Fire Up The Youth moment, opening the mic to new voices and giving emerging talent the chance to step forward.
Roots & Radio was a slow, joyful daytime gathering centred on community broadcasting - a space where generations met, stories were shared, and the importance of local radio culture shone through.
Powered by community, aired on @ujimaradio_official .
Last month @noodslevels visited the @museumofyouthculture and met with the museum’s Project Manager, Lisa der Weduwe, who took us through the museum’s story, their journey so far, and shared highlights from their archive through an interactive workshop.
Their museum is set to open in Spring 2026.
