This week my fav lil California based label Psychic Zebra @zebramuscles released 2 of my tracks up on Bandcamp for a pay what you want (free or donate) it's not up for long - one month to be exact so get it whilst it's on the Internet. Bandcamp only 2 tracks that have been sitting on my hard drives forever. Was never too happy with the mixes on these - still not fully but I never am. Good to get them out tho better out than in. - Hunting for deer - hybrid live instrument jam 2021? - Acid Squelch / Euphoric Swell - not sure when I made this -2022? @snapsofbruce helped me mix them down big time in his studio this summer in Bristol. BRAIN BATH returns on May 29th for another evening of heady downtempo, blissed-out ambient, and life-affirming audio that doesn’t typically find its way onto Vancouver dance floors. May 29th also happens to coincide with the release of Boards Of Canada’s new LP “Inferno,” so we’ll be headed to Audiopile to grab our copy and will be playing it front to back to start the night. What better way to consume what may be the most important electronic music of the decade than in a chill-out room environment in front of a massive sound system with a handful of like-minded individuals? Afterwards, the dance will begin with the BRAIN BATH DJs and the city’s headiest vibe practitioner, @dj_2button of the legendary Weirdos inc. crew closing the night out. Very xtc-atic to say I’m playing @basscoastfest this year. This is such a cute and transformative festival. Every year I’ve been has been a lesson. I’ve attended, I’ve played from applying and now I’ve been invited. Got a really exciting time slot and not much else lined up this year. glad to be in deep thinking mode about my many forms of art. After a couple of years developing quietly, I’m finally stepping into something new. *Tonight I’m the Only One Alive* is a short film and proof-of-concept for a feature I’ve been building. A story about identity, alienation, and the gap between who we are and how we’re seen. This project has come together through an incredible community of collaborators, with @luisguerral producing, @itsyourbuoy behind the camera and @dj_2button producing the soundtrack through @weirdos_inc.records We’re already most of the way there! This Kickstarter is to help us finish strong and bring it into production this April. If you feel like supporting (even in a small way), it genuinely makes a difference. With everything happening in the world, I truly find it hard to post on here anymore. From breaches of privacy, global control, ai monitoring and access to your art photos etc, democracy crumbling, war left right and centre and everyone acting insane. We need an app that isn’t this. But alas, I don’t know what the alternatives are currently so I guess I’ll make a post about me playing with some really talented people. Music is all (even though I’ve struggled this year to find inspiration from it - that’s changing). Anyway sorry for the rant, I couldn’t genuinely make a post without moaning a little bit. Excited to play with the homies @succubass @pubu_lubu . Thanks to @dollydisco for trying to make stuff happen in this city that squashes any light of creativity. For that reason it’s important to show up and support! Big up. I’ve certainly lost the energy for it lately.
