Both its title and sonic landscape evoke the sense of an announcement, of something approaching, something about to unfold

The US-based band "Misericordia" has released the first single "Initiation" from the upcoming album "Transmutation". The following is the info on the band and their album in the making!
"Misericordia" welcomes "The Black Mare".
The landscape of death-doom is shifting. With the upcoming debut record 'Transmutation', Misericordia is set to challenge the boundaries of the genre, moving far beyond traditional tropes into a realm of high-concept sonic and aesthetic art.
The Sound of 'Transmutation' isn't your standard exercise in slow riffs and gloom. 'Transmutation' is described as an abstract tapestry that pulls from a diverse palette: Jazz & Classical: Providing intricate structures and unexpected melodic movements. Ambient: Creating the atmospheric space necessary for "vivid color" to bleed through. Death-Doom: The visceral, heavy foundation that anchors the recordās surreal explorations.
Additionally the project features avant garde aesthetics from designer Løre Sæven (www.Loresaeven.black) creating rare and ethereal garments in the style of Julius_7, Devoa, and Damir Doma. The industrial edge and flowing drapery provides yet another otherworldly element with the following vivid vision: TO ADORN THY SHADOW - The ongoing collaboration creates an opportunity to mirror the development of the bands sound with evolving conceptual aesthetics.
The most striking update to the project is the official addition of The Black Mare to the lineup. This merging is described as a deliberate act of alchemy, injecting a feminine goddess element into the project's DNA. This addition promises to balance the crushing weight of the music with a new layer of spiritual depth and ethereal energy.
The record functions as a deep dive into the human shadow with notable themes of Psychological Distortion: Navigating the warped corridors of the mind and Dark Spirituality: Exploring the heavier, more esoteric side of the soul's journey.
'Transmutation' aims to be more than just an album; it is a visceral, surreal experience designed to soar wildly and refuse stagnation. Stay tuned as this alchemical process nears its final form.

@noir.notes.pegi has returned with a review of @ennui_doom
BUT, here's the short version:
Ennui's Qroba (Vanishment) is a Georgian funeral doom album that questions existence itself. The title suggests disappearance and the possibility of never coming into being. The opening track "Antinatalism" uses long, repetitive passages to evoke an empty world without children or continuationābut also without pain. When the lyrics emerge, they articulate "eternal non-being" for those never born. Throughout the album, stretched-out riffs, deep growls, and echoing voices embody existential emptiness. Existence appears as an enigmaāimposed rather than chosen.
"Down, To The Stars" shifts toward a more personal, intimate dimension, introducing fragile hope and guidance. "Mokvda Mze" (The Sun Has Died) reflects on darkness as the source of life fades, mourning solitude. The music gradually fades into a quiet, definitive close. Qroba turns the listener inward, prompting reflection on one's place within existence. It's not uplifting, but it's honest. Bring patience and a willingness to sit with discomfort.

Draconian returns with āIn Somnolent Ruinā as former vocalist Lisa Johansson rejoins the band. A welcome return for longtime fans ā and honestly, I was very curious to hear how the band would sound after Heike Langhansā departure.
Thankfully, the new album does not disappoint. Dark and emotionally heavy as expected. Have you listened to the new album?
What do you think about Lisa Johanssonās return to Draconian?
Do you prefer the emotional weight of Lisaās era or the ethereal atmosphere of the Heike Langhans years? Tell me in the comments!
