Big news in my little world:
After more than 10 years based near Strangeways, No Studio is having to relocate in 2026. Whilst I am extremely sad to be leaving the basement, I already have the keys for a new space in South Manchester, I am deep in the planning stages and building will start imminently!
The challenge of setting up my own space from scratch is huge, but I am super excited for what it means for the growth of No Studio, and Floodlit. Daylight (!) and a bigger live room are two very cool features.
Build updates will follow, and I am aiming to have the place up and running by late Spring/early Summer. Fingers crossed.
Unfortunately I can’t take on any more recording projects until the new space is built, and I will have slightly limited availability for mixing/mastering.
If you would be interested in supporting me through this unexpected move I am running a pre-order on an amazing new shirt for Floodlit, designed and to be printed by @fsr_fsr_fsr of @miscprintco . Any purchases on anything related to the label will be hugely appreciated. Links in the usual spots.
Barring classic landlord behaviour that forced this move, 2025 was great, and 2026 is off to a terrifying start. Shout out to my fiancé Gemma, to my family and friends and to everyone who trusts me to work on their music. And not overlooking the Pijn crew, I keep forgetting we’re off on tour next month with La Dispute too.

Caught having a lovely time during a session with @burntbodyuk a few days ago. Studio life has been awesome since getting back from tour, I’m *nearly* caught up on emails too.

Happy release day to me!
So pleased that the new @pijnband album ‘From Low Beams Of Hope’ is now out. There are too many people to list who have worked crazy hard to keep this going and get to this point, but special thanks to @fsr_fsr_fsr for his patience and amazing work designing and printing so much of the release, and to @gemmalilly for keeping me going, and letting our little flat turn into an absolute @floodlitrecordings mess.

Last year was crazy busy in and out of the studio. As always, I’m super grateful for all of the amazing albums I get to work on.
We’re just a couple of days into 2024 and I’m already very busy again, lots of cool projects are on the way! One of the big things I’m putting time into now is @floodlitrecordings , a label to house @pijnband and the wealth of material we have coming, as well as a way to help release records from a few select artists that I work with in the studio.
It’s a very steep learning curve (especially for someone more used to messing with pedals than metadata) but the encouragement and support I’ve already had is so lovely.
Here’s to a big old year making and releasing some exciting music!

Lots of cool projects on the go, which means lots more pedals for me to mess with next to my bin.
A lot of awesome music I have worked on has been released recently, the likes of @dawnwalkeruk@battalions@grief_ritual@jackalsband_@algernon_cornelius and @goblinsmoker.doom all with towering releases worthy of checking out.
I am currently mixing some really exciting albums and making plans for the next year or so. I have limited availability for the rest of the year, some dates in December and a couple of scattered days in November, otherwise I am looking further into 2023.
