The film depicts a series of Brutalist churches in Switzerland. The buildings stand in the landscape like mountains carved from concrete—angular, monumental, and seemingly uninhabited. The film moves around and through these silent spaces: steep walls, rugged forms, and deep shadows evoke Alpine rock formations.
In the absence of people, another inhabitant fills these sacred spaces: a white donkey roams the sites. The white Baroque donkey is a breed now nearly extinct, which was bred in Austria and Hungary during the Baroque period. At that time, light-colored animals were very popular among the nobility, as they were considered bringers of light, while dark animals were a metaphor for death. The animals that exist today are the result of artificial breeding.
The short film envisions a fictional scenario in which the churches, as artificial mountains, gradually become part of the landscape again from which their forms were inspired.

Die Arbeit „Chorda II“ beschäft sich mit dem Konzept des Erhabenen in den Epochen Barock und Brutalismus. Fotos von sakralen brutalistischen Gebäuden in der westlichen Schweiz werden kombiniert Malereien nach Diagrammen aus dem Barock. Barock und Brutalismus arbeiten beide mit Monumentalität, mit Dramatik und mit einer Inszenierung von Raum, die den menschlichen Maßstab zu sprengen sucht.
