Lately I’ve been thinking about photography less as single images and more as a way of preserving memory; the people who raised us, the communities we come from, the places we grow up in, and the everyday moments that quietly shape our lives.
I’m starting to organize my work as an archive of those moments. A capsule of the essence of the human experience.
Welcome to the Archive Project 🤍
I’ve been working on something quietly for a while now, and I’m really excited to finally start sharing it.
Over the years, photography has taught me that it’s not really about cameras or settings or gear. It’s about people, memory, and noticing the moments that matter before they disappear.
This next chapter is about teaching that.
The Art of Noticing — a photography workshop series, coming soon.
And if you saw yourself in this video somewhere, thank you for being part of my story 🤍

A diasporic love story told on a quiet Toronto evening, where the skyline hums and the streetcars pass like clockwork.
Mustafa & Reem mind me that love, no matter how far from where we call home, can still feel like home.
I decided to make this one into a movie poster, because in a way that’s what we all do - turn the moments that shape us, into stories we can hold on to.
Between the laughter, the nerves, that perfect golden hour light, this proposal was pure joy.
I would definitely buy tickets to witness this again 😍

Some days feel less like work and more like being trusted with something incredibly sacred.
Getting to document Brianna and Brian’s wedding at Harding Waterfront Estate was one of those days. The kind where every glance, every nervous laugh, every quiet in-between moment reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.
Capturing love stories will never feel ordinary to me. Being invited into such meaningful moments, witnessing families come together, and preserving memories that people will carry for generations is always such an honour.
Brianna and Brian, thank you for trusting me with your day 🤍

The Art of Noticing Part I by @nmarianaphoto at @sittisoap .
We don’t talk about two things enough; The power of third spaces, and *hot take* having the best camera gear does not mean you’ll take the best photos.
You can read all about these topics by visiting my blog pieces on @sittisoap ’s website via the link in my bio 👥
Tickets for The Art of Noticing Part II are now live! Visit @nmarianaphoto ’s link in her bio and join us on May 24 💐
more than styling, I think I’m always chasing atmosphere.
the kind that feels lived in.
coffee stains, alleyways, construction signs, conversations between friends, fabrics tied differently by different people, sunlight bouncing off a city that’s still waking up.
these weren’t meant to feel polished into perfection.
just intentional.
human.
real.
creating campaigns like this has been reminding me that storytelling exists everywhere, not just in weddings, not just in portraits, but in the small ways people move through the world

Most people think photography is about the gear.
It’s not.
It’s about what you notice.
It’s about connection.
It’s about being present enough to feel the moment before you try to capture it.
That’s what I wish I understood when I started.
If you’ve been wanting to get better, or feel more confident behind the camera; this is exactly what we’re working on this week.
A few spots left for Thursday.
Sunday is almost full.

no one ever tells you this about moments…
we think they’re loud
like speeches, applause, full rooms
but most of the time
they’re quiet
it’s the way someone leans in
the way someone listens
the way a laugh lingers a second longer
even in rooms like this
the real moments aren’t on stage
they’re happening in between
that’s what i’m always looking for
and once you start noticing it, you can’t unsee it

An evening we’re still thinking about!✨🌙
Just a few weeks ago during Ramadan, we gathered for The Night We Build. An evening of reflection, community, and showing up for something bigger than ourselves.
The conversation served as a reminder of what good can come from coming together.
Ramadan always has a way of bringing things back into focus, we’re grateful to every person who was part of it 🤍

Most people think they need a better camera.
Better lighting.
Better locations.
More experience.
But the truth is…
You’re not missing the moment…
You’re just not noticing it.
The way your mom looks at you when you’re not paying attention.
The way your baby reaches for you without thinking.
The small, quiet moments that disappear before we realize they mattered.
This is what this workshop is about.
Learning how to slow down.
How to see differently.
How to document the moments that actually mean something.
