Save the date!! We’re back at the Utah State Capitol for our 5th annual Rally to Save Our Great Salt Lake on Saturday, January 31st at 12 pm.
It’s hard to believe this is #5. This movement has come such a long way AND – we’re just getting started. This is long work. There’s so much power in the community that’s building around Great Salt Lake and the momentum is on our side. Our state leaders have called for the lake’s restoration by 2034 and we’re here to hold them accountable.
Join us on Jan. 31st as we celebrate, reflect on where we’ve been, and set our sights on the road ahead.
We need water to the lake. We need deep cultural paradigm shifts and systems change. We need a movement bigger than anything we’ve yet seen here in Utah.

Behold! The Great Salt Lake Hopeline @gslhopeline ! This past summer Ben, Han and I were awarded a grant through Salt Lake City Arts Council. The grant is part of @wakegsl –a citywide temporary public art installation happening alongside 12 other projects all focused on educating and inspiring residents to prevent the further decline of Great Salt Lake. Our project, Great Salt Lake Hopeline, invites callers to share their stories of hope with the lake or engage through listening to the sounds of her shoreline or to previous callers’ responses.
Calls can be made through this dial-in hotline (979-GSL-HOPE) or from upcycled “Great Salt Lake Hopeline” phone booths in the Greater Salt Lake area.
Follow our progress on @gslhopeline and keep an eye out for our phone booths which will be popping up in SLC soon! Big thank you to the many friends and family members who have coached us and offered support. Getting to work on this project with two of my longest and closest friends has been such a highlight of 2024, can’t wait to see where we take it in 2025.
