"...but for the stars. You put them all in my sky." ✨
While I was in residency at the
@peterbulloughfoundation , I wrote and recorded music to accompany the
@winchesterlittletheatre production of Silent Sky, going up this Friday, September 8, through September 23.
Three of my pieces are used in this production: I Shift, Margaret's Song, and In The Stars.
I Shift came together as a slow building ambient piece using vocals as a base for much of the movement in the piece. This piece gave me the opportunity to conceptualize just existing in the universe through music.
Margaret's Song is the song used in the show when Margaret shows off the music she has been working on for the first time. A piano piece with powerful highs and lows, this one was a treat to develop over time.
In The Stars is a contemporary pop song which is somewhat more raw in its composition -- using a cajon as the primary percussive element, layered warm virtual synths, copious edited and natural vocals, and a simple motif which became the base for all of the music I wrote for this show.
While not all of my pieces are used in their entirety (the former two are about 12 minutes long each), you will hear parts of each of these throughout the production. I plan to publicly exhibit these in their entirety once the production has closed.
In the meantime, come see Silent Sky at
@winchesterlittletheatre to experience this incredible production. I'll be playing Henrietta Leavitt as well, and I would be thrilled to see you there. Visit the link in their bio to get your tickets today. 🖤
