THROWBACK 2023 Jafaris - Breaking Bread Now this was another fun music video with Finn Rankin & Ignas Laugalis. Lighting was kinda fixed in place for most of it, but had alot of energy and a great scene of Finn Rankin busting through a wall. My first role as Gaffer on a TG4 TV Series with Cumasc: Seisiúin Sa Black Gate Series 2 last year with @blackgategalway Had a great time lighting and rigging for DOP Jass Foley for the main performances, as well as setting up the lighting for the interview and practice sessions. A flashback to 2022, my first year freelance lighting. Tethered was an incredible short to work on, and had a great crew getting us through some looong nights. Was especially a pleasure working with Tom O'Keefe, working with a limited lighting kit (By my standards now) was able to create some incredible shots, making selecting screengrabs for this post very hard as there was so much to choose from. THROWBACK 2023! 'Verdigris' my first feature film as a Gaffer, and a multi award winning one at that. With a loose documentary camera style, lighting was quite challenging for this one. A lot of discreet ambient lighting throughout, and lighting windows as opposed to lighting through them due to limited access for stands. An absolutely fantastic film on a micro budget, once I read the script I had to get involved. Helping out for a day on Finn Rankin's music video 'I Never Knew You Well' - Chameleon. Defintely a wacky one, but a lot of fun to light. Been a wild first year lighting in film. After getting my first chance working on a feature film as a lighting trainee in @doubleblindfilm I then got to work with the amazing crew @unmentionables.films for the first time, lighting our @lilcinemagalway 48 hour challenge winning short film 'Juniper'. Then just at the start of this year, I got the amazing opportunity to light my first feature @verdigris_film And now all are being showcased in my home county during the 35th Galway Film Fleadh @galwayfilm Never expected to work on so many great projects and each job gave me the perfect excuse to buy more lighting gear 🤗 'Juniper' is being shown at 12:00 on Wednesday 12th July in the Town Hall Theatre 'Verdigris ' on At 16:30 on Friday 14th & 'Double Blind' on just after at 19:00, both also in the Town Hall Theatre
