By allowing Israel to participate, Eurovision is whitewashing and normalizing Israel’s genocide, siege and brutal military occupation against Palestinians.

The Workers’ Party Independence Path and the New Internationalist Left (NEDA) are organizing a joint panel titled “The Situation of Working Women in Cyprus: A Bi-communal Perspective.”
The event, to be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Independence Path headquarters, will address the challenges working women face in their professional lives in both the north and south of Cyprus, as well as gender inequality, precarious working conditions, and opportunities for joint struggle.
Organized from a bi-communal perspective, the panel aims to highlight the common challenges faced by working women and strengthen solidarity.

Η εκδήλωση, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Παρασκευή 15 Μαΐου 2026, στις 6:00 μ.μ. στα κεντρικά γραφεία του «Δρόμου της Ανεξαρτησίας», θα ασχοληθεί με τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν οι εργαζόμενες γυναίκες στην επαγγελματική τους ζωή τόσο στο βόρειο όσο και στο νότιο τμήμα της Κύπρου, καθώς και με την ανισότητα των φύλων, τις επισφαλείς συνθήκες εργασίας και τις ευκαιρίες για κοινό αγώνα.
Η συζήτηση, που οργανώνεται από μια διακοινοτική προοπτική, στοχεύει να αναδείξει τις κοινές προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζουν οι εργαζόμενες γυναίκες και να ενισχύσει την αλληλεγγύη.

Israel is continuing its genocide in Palestine and expanding its bombing and land grab in Lebanon and the region. Western institutions are watching and doing nothing. The EBU banned Russia after Ukraine. It calls itself non-political when it comes to Israel. That is not neutrality. That is a choice.
As queer people we refuse to be used as cover. Israel pinkwashes its apartheid and genocide by pointing to its LGBTQ+ record. Eurovision is part of that stage. Queer liberation has never been and will never be separate from the liberation of all oppressed people. Not in our name! We are choosing to boycott!

Σήμερα, 140 χρόνια μετά, το εργατικό κίνημα — παγκοσμίως και στην Κύπρο — έχει υποστεί σημαντικές ήττες και βρίσκεται αντιμέτωπο με την εντεινόμενη ασυδοσία του κεφαλαίου. Το οκτάωρο όχι μόνο υπονομεύεται, αλλά σε ορισμένες χώρες τίθεται ανοιχτά ζήτημα επαναφοράς του 12ωρου.
Οι πόλεμοι και οι ανταγωνισμοί για τον έλεγχο των ενεργειακών πόρων όχι μόνο καταστρέφουν λαούς και ζωές, αλλά επιβαρύνουν και τους εργαζόμενους, που καλούνται να πληρώσουν το κόστος των κρίσεων. Τεράστια ποσά κατευθύνονται στη στρατιωτική βιομηχανία, την ώρα που περικόπτονται δαπάνες για την υγεία, την παιδεία και τις κοινωνικές παροχές. Τα μεγαλύτερα βάρη τα σηκώνουν οι εργαζόμενοι, οι νέοι, οι ηλικιωμένοι, τα άτομα με αναπηρία και ιδιαίτερα οι γυναίκες.
Οι αγώνες για τα δικαιώματά μας είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένοι με τον αγώνα ενάντια σε ένα σύστημα που γίνεται ολοένα πιο άδικο, αυθαίρετο και επιθετικό — τόσο απέναντι στους ανθρώπους όσο και στο περιβάλλον.
Τα δικαιώματα που απολαμβάνουμε σήμερα — το οκτάωρο, η πενθήμερη εργασία, οι άδειες και οι κοινωνικές παροχές — δεν μας χαρίστηκαν. Κατακτήθηκαν μέσα από σκληρούς αγώνες των εργαζομένων και των κινημάτων τους.
Σήμερα, οι αγώνες αυτοί συνεχίζονται. Δεν μπορούν παρά να είναι αγώνες ενάντια στη νεοφιλελεύθερη πολιτική, στη διαφθορά, στους πολέμους και στον ιμπεριαλισμό.
Η ΝΕΔΑ συμμετέχει και φέτος στις πορείες Ελληνοκυπρίων και Τουρκοκυπρίων εργαζομένων, διεκδικώντας ένα κοινό μέτωπο όλων των εργαζομένων στο νησί — για μια δίκαιη κοινωνία, ενάντια στον φασισμό, τον ρατσισμό και την έμφυλη βία, ενάντια σε κάθε μορφή καταπίεσης, για μια ομόσπονδη, σοσιαλιστική Κύπρο.

Εμείς, μια ομάδα οργανώσεων της κοινωνίας των πολιτών και μεμονωμένων ατόμων, καλούμε το ΡΙΚ να υποστηρίξει τον αποκλεισμό του Kan, του δημόσιου ραδιοτηλεοπτικού φορέα του Ισραήλ, από τον Διαγωνισμό Τραγουδιού της Eurovision 2026.
Το 2022, η Ευρωπαϊκή Ραδιοτηλεοπτική Ένωση (EBU) απέκλεισε τον ρωσικό δημόσιο ραδιοτηλεοπτικό φορέα από τον Διαγωνισμό Τραγουδιού της Eurovision, μετά την εισβολή της Ρωσίας στην Ουκρανία.
O πόλεμος του Ισραήλ στη Γάζα και τον Λίβανο υπερβαίνει το κριτήριο της «άνευ προηγουμένου κρίσης» στo οποίo βασίστηκε η EBU το 2022.
Ωστόσο, ο ισραηλινός ραδιοτηλεοπτικός φορέας Kan διατηρεί δικαίωμα συμμετοχής στην Eurovision 2026. Εάν η EBU εφάρμοζε για το Ισραήλ τα ίδια κριτήρια που εφάρμοσε για τη Ρωσία το 2022, ο αποκλεισμός του KAN θα ήταν άμεσος και αδιαμφισβήτητος. Η EBU πρέπει να ενεργεί με συνέπεια.
Μέχρι να απαγορευτεί η συμμετοχή στη Eurovision του δημόσιου ραδιοτηλεοπτικού φορέα του Ισραήλ Kan, καλούμε το ΡΙΚ να αποσυρθεί.
Apartheid and Genocide Deepen as Israel Passes New Death Penalty Law
"We Made History" Ben-Gvir wrote "We promised, we delivered", after the Israel’s parliament (Knesset) passed a law imposing the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of fatal attacks, with 62 votes in favor and 48 against.
The legislation makes the death penalty the default punishment for Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied West Bank found guilty of deliberately killing Israelis with the intent of "negating the existence of the State of Israel" - acts that are deemed of terrorism by a military court. Executions will be done by hanging and will be carried out within 90 days of sentencing.
Even though Israel had previously abolished the death penalty for murder in 1954, with only one notable exception(the execution of the Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in 1962), Israel re establishes the law, targeting Palestinians and continuing the genocide.
With this legislation the Israeli government once more violates the international humanitarian law and deepens the apartheid regime, since the law deals only with the killing of Israelis and not with Palestinians, which is also a very frequent occurrence, especially in the West Bank.
The law has been already condemned by more than 30 human rights organisations, local and international including the UN Human Rights Office that characterised its implementation as a war crime, and including the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI) that called the bill "draconian" and an official stamp of approval for state-sanctioned vengeance.
This is the state with which the Republic of Cyprus is collaborating. This is the state that the EU is doing business with. This is the state that is described as the only democracy in the Middle East.
Enough is enough. We demand
* repeal the law
* RoC and the EU to break relations with Israel
* an end to the Genocide
* we fight for the common struggle of the Palestinian and Israeli working people and youth, for peace, prosperity and a socialist future
Η απεργία που ξεκίνησε στις 20/3 στη Λεμεσό συνεχίζεται για 5η μέρα και στη Λευκωσία. Οι απεργοί απαιτούν καλύτερες συνθήκες εργασίας, ασφάλεια και υψηλότερες αμοιβές.
Από την πρώτη μέρα, οι απεργοί δέχθηκαν επανειλημμένες επιθέσεις από μπράβους της εταιρείας Wolt, αλλά και από τις εταιρείες που τους προσλαμβάνουν (fleet managers), με την ανοχή της αστυνομίας.
Το καθεστώς εργασίας των μεταναστών εργαζομένων στη Wolt αποτελεί σύγχρονη σκλαβιά και δεν μπορεί να συνεχιστεί. Οι λεγόμενες «εταιρείες στόλου» (fleet managers) αποσπούν περίπου το 40% των απολαβών των εργαζομένων στις πλατφόρμες διανομής, ενώ την ίδια στιγμή οι ίδιοι οι εργαζόμενοι καλούνται να καλύπτουν από την τσέπη τους καύσιμα, οχήματα, ασφάλειες και άδειες.
Την ίδια στιγμή, οι εργαζόμενοι είναι εκτεθείμένοι σε ρατσιστικές επιθέσεις και κλοπές χωρίς καμία ουσιαστική προστασία, παρά τις καταγγελίες τους, ούτε από τις εταιρείες ούτε από το κράτος.
Ο αγώνας τους είναι αγώνας όλων μας!

The strike that began on March 20 in Limassol is now in its fifth day and has spread to Nicosia. The strikers are demanding better working conditions, safety, and higher wages.
From day one, the strikers have faced repeated attacks by Wolt’s security guards, as well as by the companies that hire them (fleet managers), with the police turning a blind eye.
The working conditions of migrant workers at Wolt amount to modern-day slavery and cannot continue. The so-called “fleet management companies” (fleet managers) take approximately 40% of delivery platform workers’ earnings, while at the same time the workers themselves are required to pay out of pocket for fuel, vehicles, insurance, and licenses.
At the same time, workers are exposed to racist attacks and theft with no real protection, despite their complaints, from neither the companies nor the state.
Their struggle is our struggle!

We demand:
*Immediate end to all US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
*Immediate end of Cyprus’s participation in the war - Cyprus should not be a launchpad or a facilitator to the bloodshed.
*Closure of the British Bases and cancellation of all the military agreements that give “land and water” to foreign armies.
We need to build:
*An international anti-war movement with demonstrations, strikes, blockades to put pressure on the aggressors.
*Solidarity with workers and oppressed people across the region, against racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism, – against nationalist hysteria that states use to discipline dissent at home.
*Class solidarity with the struggle of the Iranian masses for their democratic, gender and national rights.
*We call on the people on both sides of the island to stand together on the above demands.
Our security lies not in alliances with powerful military forces, but in solidarity between the peoples of this island and the peoples of the region. Our strength lies in cooperation and in demilitarisation, in class solidarity of the workers and the oppressed, and in the struggle for a reunited socialist federal Cyprus free from foreign troops, foreign bases, and foreign interference.

WOMEN IN THE FOREFRONT
We salute the strikers — especially the women workers at the EKTA factory.
We salute your courage, your determination, and your refusal to accept injustice.
Your struggle is our struggle. Because every time workers organise, every time women raise their voices, the whole system trembles.
Today, March 8, we remember the women workers of New York who in 1908 took to the streets demanding bread, dignity, shorter working hours and the right to vote.
In 1910 the socialist revolutionary Clara Zetkin proposed the creation of an international day of struggle for women’s rights.
And in 1917, women workers in Russia went on strike demanding “Bread and Freedom”, lighting the spark that led to the great revolutionary uprising of that year.
This is the tradition we belong to.
Because no right was ever given to women as a gift.
Every right was won through struggle.
Women have always been at the forefront — in the workplace, in the streets, in the fight to survive.
But the struggle is far from over.
Today we see wars destroying entire societies. In Iran, women and girls are being killed under the cynical pretext of “saving” them. In Palestine, thousands of women and children have been massacred, and millions more are condemned to poverty, displacement and despair.
At the same time, violence against women continues everywhere.
Every day women are murdered by partners or relatives.
Thousands more suffer abuse, rape, humiliation and threats — often without protection, without justice, without support.
Millions of women carry the burden of unpaid labour — raising children, caring for the elderly and the sick — while governments and corporations build their profits on this invisible work.
And while all this happens, reactionary forces are trying to push women back into silence.
But we know something they fear.
When women organise, when workers unite, when oppressed people stand together — the system shakes.
Our struggles must be common. Our voices must be united.
Because the same system that exploits workers, that tolerates violence against women, is the same system that divides this island and fuels wars everywhere.
