Join Nati and Amber on May 17th for a special 1.5-hour yoga class dedicated to giving back and supporting @nativelikewater . 🩵🌊
This heart-centered offering will begin with pranayama to ground and center, flow into a gentle Hatha practice to move and restore the body, and close with an extended savasana accompanied by a soothing sound bath for deep relaxation and renewal. The majority of donations from this class will go directly to support their mission. Come practice, give back, and be part of something meaningful.
About Native Like Water -
Native Like Water (NLW) prepares and reintegrates teens and young adults into ocean recreation, conservation, wellness, and inter-generational cultural self exploration. This program focused on an indigenous sacred relationship to water. NLW works in a directional shift, going from just surviving to thriving. NLW creates scholarship and support for an endangered Native American population in California, Mexico and internationally.
Chumash Community youth surfboard give away happened! Thank you to all folks who donated and @positivevibewarriors@tannergud@danedamus@patrickgud@hobiesurfshop
As you see with the Chumash, it takes a community to get us back reunited with the water and one with our mother ocean.
It was quite a project to get boards in the hands of youth in the Indigenous territories of Michoacan MX, San Diego, Ventura/Santa Barbara and Washington. Wow what a great distribution of stoke !! Thank you to all who
Helped @nativelikewater spread the love with over 120 surfboards. A feeling so special remembering how it felt wanting a surfboard so bad as a kid . Dream on, surf on , stoke on !!
P.S. we will still
Accept water tight good condition grom size boards 6 ft and under. DM us photo credit to: Eric Isaacs @emiphoto326
Episode 3: San Diego 🌊Watch on FNX.org/app
Our journey begins at the picturesque La Jolla Shores beach with Native Like Water, an incredible organization led by Marc Chavez – a dedicated water keeper.
Chavez emphasizes the importance of reconnecting native people in Southern California to the coastlands, helping the youth rediscover their ancestral ties and awaken their DNA that resonates within indigenous communities.
Let’s celebrate and support the rich heritage and culture of indigenous peoples! 💙

Registration for our 2026 Summer San Diego Residential Program held at UC San Diego, June 22-July 1, is just about filled. Registration goes fast. We have only a couple spots left. Please visit our link tree in bio to register.
If you would like to sponsor a youth or donate for scholarships, please do. This 7-9 day program takes nearly $3,000 to put EACH youth through a rigorous, world class enrichment, all access program such as this. Challenges to fundraising exist, and we can use everyone’s help to see this through. Please consider donating with link in bio. Thank you. Intertribal Youth Summer program has 25 years in existence. A priceless experience that lasts a lifetime. Help us celebrate with your donation.

Still carrying La Costa Nahua with me 🌊
Grateful to be learning with Native Like Water through my MSW practicum—community-rooted work that centers connection, ancestral knowledge, care, and cultura.
What I experienced wasn’t just a program—it was a way of being.
Ocean, land, food, and community woven together as practice and medicine—reminding me that healing lives in relationship, with each other and with the land and ocean that hold us.
I feel genuinely grateful to be learning with and from this community—and to be part of work that aligns with my values and vision for healing.
If it resonates, I invite you to learn more, participate, or support (links in bio). 🤍
Con cariño + gratitude 🤍
