✨Over 1,000 Hamilton residents transformed a construction fence in the North End into a canvas for community pride.
🎉Today, the AGH and CityHousing Hamilton celebrated the unveiling of the completed Jamesville Community Art Project!
🎨The project launched in October 2025 and brought together participants aged 2 to 82 to share their creative voices. Students, educators, artists, and residents collaborated to explore neighbourhood identity through art. Congratulations to everyone who brought this project to life.
👋Come stop by to check out this incredible celebration of community!

“There is a futurism in Carson’s use of texture and layering created by the directions of his heart. Raised by women, he finds it easy to be in his feelings.
These are collections of little mirrors that once looked more like cardboard and expired gift cards left in alleyways.
If we look closely, we might begin to see that each collage teaches us how to move through life more curiously.”

“Nathan Eugene Carson pours through piles of whole fragments, surrounded by endless paintings on the floor, loose pieces and silhouettes, paper or cardboard strewn in alleys.
Layers of paint are added sparingly whenever he is called to it. He says he is not much of a paint brush person.
Some pieces are feathered together across a decade. The self-assured artist lets these pieces sit for as long as necessary until a future self finds a thread between past and present.
What visions are unearthed in you when you look into this mirror—this portrait?”

𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗕𝗘𝗥𝗚 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟 is thrilled to announce our upcoming exhibition 𝘚𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘵 with Hamilton-based mixed media artist 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻. Known for his portraits, Carson builds layered surfaces through painting and collage, creating rich textures that are reminiscent of weathered posters, worn textiles, and painted walls. Each reflects his intuitive process, giving the works a strong sense of labor, life, and vitality. At the heart of these images are themes of compassion, hope, and perseverance, as each figure carries personal memory, collective history, and the lasting threads of Black identity and diaspora.
We invite you to join us next Friday, November 21 between 4 - 6 pm for the opening reception and celebration 🎉

Over the past three months, I’ve had the privilege of curating exhibitions at @b_side_farside .
From the inaugural Guess Who? group show—featuring an incredible lineup of artists—to the collaborative exhibition with @lainegroeneweg , and concluding with last month’s solo presentation of my own work, this experience has been both inspiring and deeply meaningful.
As I reflect on these past few months, I’m truly grateful to all the artists who participated and to everyone who took the time to visit, share kind words, and engage with the work. Your support and enthusiasm have made these shows so special.
I also want to extend my sincere appreciation to the entire @farsidehamilton team for their warmth and support. A special thank-you to @babette_laflail for all your help , Lastly let me take a moment to send a special shoutout and love to @itsrachelconduit and @_michaelsoft for creating and nurturing such vibrant spaces @farsidehamilton , @b_side_farside , and @easytigersnackbar —that continue to celebrate creativity and community. I encourage everyone to keep showing up, supporting local art, and being part of these inspiring spaces.
If your free tonight , hanging in Hamilton for Art Crawl , come into @b_side_farside between 6-8 pm , grab a drink and head on into the back gallery and see the awesome art me and @lainegroeneweg made :) We repurposed our forecast cardboard works into new configurations . 🟥🟧🟨🟩🟦🟪⬛️⬜️🟫🔲🔳
Last spring, @lainegroeneweg and I made some wild cardboard works for a dance party at @smokestack.studio . Since then, they’ve travelled to @cottonfactoryca for a show, then got hung at @art_toronto . This summer, I took the X-Acto blade to them — and now, for this Friday’s Art crawl, we’ve remixed them once again. Come see what we did! 5–8pm @b_side_farside ⚡️
I reached out to over 24 artists and asked each one for something different —
a piece that doesn’t look like anything they’re known for.
Something old and forgotten, or a secret wild card they’ve never shown.
Tonigh the show opens @b_side_farside .
Starting tomorrow and all month long, I invite you to come by and play a little game:
Can you guess who made what?
New mystery artists will be added throughout the month…
Let the guessing begin !
