Sahreyye | A magical night of community, art and solidarity ✨🧿🌻🍉 Thank you to each and everyone one of you for joining us at Sahreyye. We are still so grateful of the talent, beauty and healing so palpable in that space that evening ❤️ Thank you to our performers @songsofliberationband & @layan_hawila , who moved all of us with their music. Thank you to our open mic talent, our poets, storytellers, musicians, and to all those who joined us— with performers ranging from 4 years of age to 77. We were so blown away by the radical love and liberation pulsating through the space. Thank you @just1pin & @lifedrawingboston for hosting us for the evening in this lovely venue. Thank you to all the neighborhoods who joined us, bringing together all advocates into one room! And as always, a big thank you the best team anyone could ask for @nahdaproject who saw the vision and worked towards it. Finally, deep gratitude to my big brother @samerboudabke — whom has always been a steady pillar to myself and to this community. So grateful to be on this journey alongside you all. And of course, there will be many more opportunities to share your culture, and be in community! Stay tuned! #NahdaProject #NahdaDabke

Plantcestors serve as powerful conduits of cultural preservation, ancestral remembrance and future guidance. They become a balm during healing, scattered during grief and a reminder of renewal during growth. In collaboration with Palestinian contemporary dance artist Jassi Murad @_mnfath_ and Dabke group @nahdaproject , join us in this ritual performance of Plantcestors. The performance allows the community to experience the sounds, smells and plants from the Levant including poetry from ancestor and Lebanese writer Khalil Gibran who grew up in the area. Special thank you to artist Justin C. McIntosh @just1pin who helped recreate the historic Syrian Grocery Importing store sign, and other fun surprising props for the performance. Bostons historic Little Syria which was located in parts of Chinatown and the South End. Much of this community was forced to leave during urban developement and the creation of the mass turnpike which opened in 1957. Please check out all the performances too! RSVP! Starting at 1pm @paoartscenter curated by Sung-Min Kim @skimmilk.png and Wenxuan Xue @innerchildsings “six artists will be responding to and caring for site-specific histories of Boston Chinatown through water calligraphy, dance, storytelling, and more. Participants will start their journeys at Pao Arts Center where they will be given a map and a schedule to walk around Chinatown and visit the performances. We invite you to find refuge and meditate on the deep histories embedded in the neighborhood.” Joanna Tam @joanna_tam , Lani Asunción @lani.asuncion , Yolanda He Yang @yolandaheyang_arts , Ying Ye @ye_ying_ye , Anita Yip @project.asian.joy

Rain or shine we show up for Palestine!! 🇵🇸🇵🇸 On Saturday all across Somerville’s annual Porchfest volunteers were collecting donations to Palestinian families in Gaza and getting neighbors involved with demanding our elected officials implement the Boycott Ordinance for Palestine! We ended the day with a musical celebration from Bahloul and Brain TV and the Levantine folkloric dance of Dabke performed by S4P’s very own Dabke troupe and Nahda Project! Our movement for justice for Palestine & Lebanon requires joy and community! Thank you to all who joined and volunteered!! Onwards to a free Palestine! 🇵🇸🇵🇸

Thank you to everyone who came & supported our film screening and fundraiser for South Lebanon. With your help and generosity we were able to provide urgent relief support to Lebanon ❤️ All the way from Boston to Lebanon 🙏🏻 Our deepest thank you goes to the talented directors @farrahberrou , @fatiimajoumaa @until.sunrise for their touching, moving and poignant pieces. We all were moved by their stories of the South, and after our film screening, we heard recorded comments from Farrah & Fatima. We opened the floor to discussion so we can process the grief, the steadfastness and ways we can support our people on the ground. A special thank you to everyone who came and supported us. Thank you to our local artists @made___line , for donating art work, for @abboudi.bj for their donations as well for Palestine & Lebanese vintage prints. Thankyou to the wonderful baklawa made with love @maamoullwithlove highly recommended homemade bakery ❤️ Stay tuned for more opportunities to staying connected and to uplift our people on the ground 🙏🏻 In Solidarity, Nahda & S4P team

🎥Nahda Project and Somerville for Palestine are pleased to invite you to a film screening and fundraiser to support relief efforts in Lebanon. Israel’s cruel and reckless expansion has displaced over a million people in Lebanon. Through these films we learn their stories of resistance, existence, and humanity. 🎭We’ll watch four short films, including Farrah Berrou’s @farrahberrou Buffer Zone, and @fatiimajoumaa ‘s From My Mother’s Novel, hear some words from them, and then have a discussion and processing/reflection space. We’ll also offer snacks and vintage posters from our beloved @abboudi.bj for fundraising. 🇱🇧 All the donations raised from the fundraiser will go to mutual aid, grass-root organizations in Lebanon. 🎟️Tickets are sliding scale, pay what you can with a suggested minimum of $15 paid to Venmo @lucie -march. You can still donate if you won’t be able to make it, and you can still show up if you’re unable to donate at this time! All are welcome. 🗓️The screening will take place on April 30th, 7-9PM, at the 191 Highland Ave, Room B6, Somerville MA. It is ADA accessible. ❤️ We look forward to seeing you there!
