MySpace.Phx

What is MySpace? MySpace is an Arts collective created by @theemadcap1 in 2021 out of the need to have a space where Art, accessible to all, is actively being housed & created in downtown Phoenix on Roosevelt St. in what is known as Phx’s Arts District. Its goal is to hold space for community, creatives and be a beacon to Artists of all genres and mediums. We have a “curator” every month from our growing Collective of Artists. These are all people that facilitate, promote, and are passionate about helping to hold space for Art to flourish. We all have each other’s back and are part of a greater local & national Artistic Community. During the Summer months, we will be doing a “Curator’s Choice” - we have tagged in this post all the past, present and future @myspace.phx curators. Reach out to work with any of them for June, July or August. Played here before? Reach out to the curator you worked with and they can either handle it or help point you in the right direction. Coven's 3rd time curating @myspace.phx has concluded after tonight's show. 1 month. 27 shows. 2 venues ( @myspace.phx + @central.records ) 67 artists. Covens tag line is "MEET. COLLABORATE. CONNECT" because that is what DIY is all about. It is a collaboration. It's a neighborhood coming together to make life and magic and connection happen. It's about giving life its meaning. This month Coven collaborated with, hosted, or helped run several promoters shows in addition to our own: - @slushypresents ( including a show rescue from a cancled @therosettaroom show ) - @rose_j_gold - @krxsraps / @tittygraveyard ( show rescue for a @yuccataproom that got cancled due to remodeling ) - @funkn_up - @vivaphx / @onshufflehq - @m4xb3ckm4n ( who booked tonight's show that was a treat to host ) Also, @brokenfckingnose , a member of Coven booked her first show this month through Coven. Our First Friday show on 4/3 that had A STAGGERING 300 PEOPLE ATTEMPT TO SHOW UP TO A SPACE THE SIZE OF A SMALL MOTEL ROOM. GOOD JOB ELISIYA! It takes a village to keep DIY alive (or a few neighborhoods) As a certain local band ( @imaginewehadantlers ) LET THE KIDS HAVE THEIR SAY! (this song has been on repeat for us all month) DIY or DIE!
