A lovely trip up to Lichfield on Friday for a revival of the TV time show with the mighty @sameverybigband . So fun to have another crack at Sam’s glorious arrangements. Also big thanks to @tyler.w.photography for some excellent snaps.
Had a lovely time on Saturday doing my first gig with BBC Big Band. Some lovely charts and the band sounded fucking epic. Eternally grateful to @mattskeltondrums for the recommendation.
The excellent bass player @murraydare3 joined me for his second coaching session with me recently. Murray is a master on both electric and double basses and yet he’s aware that a big part of mastery is finding the people who can help refine what we already know.
This happens more prominently in the world of sports like golf, tennis, etc.
Novak Djokovic’s coach is clearly not a “better” tennis player than Novak, but they are able to observe how he plays and see the small changes needed to refine his game.
You don’t have to be expert level like Murray to study with me, just know that if you’re looking to improve in areas such as rhythm, harmony, ear training/retention and more, it’s very likely I can help.
