Director @munwalkr Writer @latinadirector Actor @moon_chola Actor @freshfreckles DP @andressacor Intimacy Coordinator @_juliabelanova Director Dave: “As a director, I came in hoping to stretch beyond my usual creative process. Not to reinvent the wheel, but to trust the words, the collaboration, and the moment. This workshop gave me permission to do that. What made it special wasn’t just the script or the scene, it was the environment. The space created here felt safe, honest, and collaborative, which allowed the actors, intimacy coordinator, and DP to bring their full selves to the work. That kind of trust can’t be faked, it has to be built. And this workshop built it beautifully. I was able to experiment, push my visual instincts, and explore new emotional terrain with actors who brought truth and boldness to every take. I came in with a plan, but I also left room for discovery. And that blend of preparation and surrender ended up being the most rewarding part. This was more than a workshop. It was a reminder of why we tell stories in the first place. Continuing RomCom Workshop 3 through the @ladirectorslab with the second half of our directors! 🎬 Director @munwalkr Director @emmyloudiaz Director @k.osswrites Writers @latinadirector Actors: @moon_chola @freshfreckles @kanashimanuki @mdot_serrano @iveeba @serg.gavidia DPs: @trebetts @andressacor @fjuarezdp In this workshop, we brought in Intimacy Coordinators as many directors & actors have yet to work with one or even if they have, still are unclear about their responsibilities. We had our IC’s break down what their job really entails and all the ways they are there for the production, not just the actors. While we shot intimate scenes with the safety of IC’s on set, we all learned so much from them! They brought a world of understanding to safety and comfortability on set during intimate interactions and that’s the core of what this workshop focused on. 🙌🏼 Shoutout to our Workshop 2 Intimacy Coordinators: @vividlyintimate @_juliabelanova Thank you to these 2 for their time, support & education into the world of working Intimacy Coordinators! Director @munwalkr Actor @sydneymei Actor @noa_lev_ari DP @eloimoli Stunt Coordinator @kamenblackguy David: “As a director in the Stunt Workshop, I signed up to deepen my understanding of fight choreography and how to capture movement dynamically on camera. The workshop was an incredibly collaborative experience, allowing me to work closely with skilled stunt coordinator while refining my approach to actor blocking and camera placement. Overall, the workshop pushed me to think beyond just the choreography and focus on how to integrate storytelling, performance, and cinematography into a cohesive action sequence. I’d highly recommend it to any director looking to elevate their action filmmaking skills.” Sydney: “Delivering some action in front of the camera was a dream come true as an actor! The LA Directors Lab was a wonderful, safe, supportive environment to begin that journey. I loved being able to work with experienced, professional Stunt Coordinators who helped us look like pros and feel SAFE. This is one of the major assets of LA Directors Lab: it never cuts corners on having great quality professionals, quality equipment, and fastidious ORGANIZATION to provide an exceptional experience. Don’t sleep on LADL!!! I mean, it’s my third lab, and the next one can never get here fast enough!” Noa: “As an actor in the Stunt Workshop, I came in with zero stunt experience. I was unsure about my abilities and I was excited to learn a new skill! Boy, did I learn a bunch of new skills and that I actually have a knack for stunt work! I’m so grateful to have had this experience, I really stepped out of my comfort zone and had so much fun doing it. I got to do something I never thought I’d get the opportunity to do, and now I can’t wait to do action scenes in the future.
