Belated happy thank you to everyone who joined us in welcoming in the New Year last week. Thanks to @pink_noise_notts for hosting with us and @keekslb @sooooapy_ @hotmess.pl for joining me behind the smokiest booth in the Midlands. Was such a gorgeous way to enter what is destined be a beautiful and queer 2026 - start as you mean to go on and we started off hot 🥵 Huge thanks to @multimodal.live for all the work put into the lighting, just stunning work + as always thanks to everyone at @themodel.ng for all their hard work. Our next party is on Feb 13th and will be delightfully romantic. Announcement coming Tuesday 💋

∿ Multimodal at @themodel.ng ∿ ceiling light sculpture install ∿ The steel LED grid was installed at @themodel.ng before the turn of the year. It was 3 days of intense labor: cutting, tapping and fixing metal strut, rods and mesh, connecting and making sense of wires, soldering and resoldering temperamental LED strips. Totally worth the graft. Thank you so much @themodel.ng to trust us again and enabling our ideas to become reality.

∿ Multimodal at @themodel.ng ∿ first nights ∿ We’ve been tuning, calibrating and improving the system since @themodel.ng opened in July. Here are some clips from the first parties. This was a wonderful testing ground for the early stages of the Multimodal system - thank you to @themodel.ng and the DJs. The software has been developed drastically during this time and we are nearly ready to share beta access.

∿ Multimodal at @themodel.ng ∿ Install pictures ∿ @themodel.ng opened its doors for the first time last July, giving a new life to a venue close to our hearts. We are grateful they trusted us to deliver the first phase of the dancefloor lighting with our prototype pixel-mapping software. It has been a pleasure to work together with @themodel.ng on this DIY venture. Now we are plotting the second phase - building our biggest light installation to date into @themodel.ng ’s vaulted ceiling - and it will be coming right in time for NYE.

Our lighting installation is an unsung hero at The Model. We worked closely with Notts/Ldn lighting wizard @mw.matthewwoodham before the venue opened to strategise how we can create an immersive dance floor on a DIY budget, one that responded to the music and was adaptable given the type of night - from ambient beanbag sessions to peak time Saturday night euphoria. Now, Matt is relaunching @multimodal.live as a light installation studio, give them a follow! Thanks to Matt, people consistently praise us for our lighting on the dance floor, often comparing the lanterns to jellyfish. Unfortunately, December 2025 will be the last time you can experience these beauties. The new year brings in a fresh installation inspired by the Model’s philosophy of ‘uberflussig’. You can expect a minimalist design utilising engineering materials and repeating patterns. Lighting V2.1 will be debuted on NYE and powered by @multimodal.live ’s own custom pixel mapping software ‘Multimodal Mapper’. We are the first venue to be trialing this pioneering software that makes light operation accessible for small venues, especially important when a professional lighting tech is rarely on hand. You can seamlessly integrate your own light fixtures or visuals, making our new rig the perfect canvas for visual artists to perform. There will be opportunities for this in the new year and we’re going to be working closely with Multimodal and @nottinghamtrentuni , providing opportunities for students to learn and perform.
