𝓜𝓘𝓣𝓒𝓗 𝓔𝓛𝓛𝓘𝓞𝓣𝓣 / 𝓢𝓘𝓜𝓞𝓝 𝓑𝓐𝓡𝓚𝓔𝓡 - live at Oxford Art Factory 4 June (thu) supporting KAE TAKAHASHI (JPN) presented by entundra! MITCH ELLIOTT & SIMON BARKER perform together for the first time, bringing together distinct yet intersecting approaches to improvisation, texture, and sonic exploration. In 2024 and 2025, Mitch Elliott toured Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, China, and Hong Kong as a solo Lyra-8 performer. He is a member of the Sydney-based improv groups withdrawe and Black Metal 3, has collaborated with Japanese improvisors Sayaka Botanic and Morishige Yasumune, and most recently debuted in Vietnam with Nguyễn Võ Tấn Quang. Since 1990, Simon Barker has performed regularly throughout Australia, Europe, Asia, and the US, and has produced a large collection of solo drumming recordings alongside numerous ongoing collaborative projects including Chiri, Showa 44, and duos with Scott Tinkler and Hinano Fujisaki. Mitch Elliott, ‘Low Water / Last Act’ Arranged from materials recorded in 2021 immediately following the release of Kurosawa Daydream, ‘Low Water / Last Act’ captures the final days of that era’s harsh no-input mixer and microphone feedback experimentation. These are also the last songs to be released from the 2023/2024 remote mix sessions with Einstürzende Neubauten engineer Boris Wilsdorf of @anderebaustelletonstudio . As such they were originally intended for release on ‘A Spring-Flood Overflows the Still Horizon’ but were omitted. ‘Low Water / Last Act’ is out today as part of important fundraising activities for @dokkalfar.swart All funds from bandcamp sales this bandcamp Friday go towards our friend Lecet’s road accident recovery. I would never have started touring outside Australia without Lecet’s encouragement and organisation.
