bringing this energy into the new year. 🎶
this city is so full of incredible creatives - when I look back at 2025 it’s with awe and deep gratitude towards each individual I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with.
ART OF PLAY | 03 ✨ frozen dye and dye material created our final scene for @collectivemn Magazine. The tablecloth underneath took on dye throughout the whole shoot, and dye blocks were left to de-thaw on the fabric. The last frame shows the end result ✨ thank you @collectivemn for the feature, and @joshgrubbs and @mstobyrae for the inspiring collaboration ✨
ART OF PLAY | 01 ✨ onion skins and avocado pits and skins provided by @chowgirlscatering , black vase made by local artist @joanne_sohn_pottery , both vases from local shop @haustheory . All fabric dyed with avocado pits and skins by @ontheacre . Image a part of the @collectivemn magazine article, the Art of Play, a collaboration between @joshgrubbs@mstobyrae and @rmhardacre .
Our Art of Play shoot embodies the coming together of creative community, collectively creating. Thank you to each of you the brought this work to life, and to @collectivemn for having a mission and vision that inspires this collective creative work.
The making of the cover of @collectivemn magazine ✨the tablecloth is dyed with avocado pits skins. The color is a beautiful peachy orange, unexpected for avocado pits and skins.
The construction of the sculpture happened all on set - @mstobyrae had a bundle of chicken wire and a 50lb bag of onions and she just started building. She created a sculpture that feels reminiscent of an onion bag, combined with a cascading centerpiece.
@joshgrubbs created drama with his lighting, elevating the sculpture to something breathtaking. As we were shooting, I turned to the team and said “What if this was the cover shot?” We are so thrilled it was chosen for Collective Magazine, and love seeing our work in print.
