#WhoDis - I can be a bit of an enigma by most accords, “I look familiar”, “you saw me on TV”, etc…My name is Mr. Daniel Dickey and I’m a real Renaissance Man & one of the most diversely accomplished black men on this Earth! A Pure Soul, Mastermind, Minimalist, Missionary, Multimedia Mogul, emerging Millionaire, Directional Speaker, Oracle, Sage and a Win Coach! The range of my award winning adventures @resourceguild , accolades and accomplishments is vast and spans through food & beverage, faith, film, lifestyle, sports, technology, fashion, music, philanthropy, entertainment, business & more. I’m also a singer/songwriter who went to college on vocal scholarship, and went on to open for John Legend, Ryan Leslie, Robert Glasper, Carl Thomas, Jagged Edge. I performed @nbaallstar in 2019 & I have a band called “The Real Love Experience” #TRLEband. I’ve been a part of launching some of the dopest things that have ever happened in our culture, my light and life continues to be impactful to my people in exponential ways…I’m not in anybody’s “click”, I move authentically and graciously through all walks of life, I’ve regularly been called “The Governor of Atlanta”, “The Heartbeat of Atlanta” among other things. What is A #RenaissanceMan? A well-rounded man with a wide range of interest, knowledge, gifts and skills all of which complement one another to make him a more talented, multifaceted & productive person overall. A Renaissance Man is not a jack of all trades who seems able to tackle any/all task, the word “All” automatically technically makes NOBODY a “Jack of All Trades” because NOBODY can do any and everything to be done under the Sun. A true Renaissance Man will never claim he can accomplish everything, but he will accomplish anything to which he commits his time and energy. In other words, he tries his damndest and accomplishes his goals an extremely high percentage of the time! You don’t have to be able to rebuild an engine or tie a perfect fly fishing knot to be a Renaissance man, but you should master the practical skills that are needed in daily life. These include handling basic household issues like minor repairs, the ability to cook a number of foods, a basic knowledge of self defense, spirituality, chivalry, romance, your divine masculine and divine feminine energies, literature, emotional intelligence and competence with the management of your budget, schedule, and so forth. To be a Renaissance man, you must be a man of your times. That requires staying abreast of events, trends in the arts and culture, and knowing a bit about the latest in the sciences, too. This post is also a reminder to #BlackMen because being a #RenaissanceMan is definitely the legacy of #BlackMen and the legacy of #BlackPeople as our ancestors known to us and the unknown to us are the people who created EVERYTHING dope on this Earth that didn’t naturally exist! #TBT - “Wilmington Dump” : When I looked through these pictures, the first thing that comes to mind is legacy, I am the son of Glenn and Delia Dickey, grandson of Reverend Dr. WK Raynor & Audrey Mae Raynor & Dr. Daniel Carter Roane & Marjorie (Pla) Dickey…I see in these pictures My Aunt Suggie (Rosalia), My Aunt Marjorie, My big brothers Loren & Brian, my little nephews Gabriel & Julian, one of my favorite proteges @ceocednc & his venture @wilmingtoncolor that tells the resounding history of “Black Excellence” in @cityofwilm , I see my mother’s smile and refusal to look at the camera for pictures 🙄, my brothers shared focus with her to compromise family pictures 🤦🏾‍♂️, (Stop by @sweet_ds_cuisine ASAP though), but more than that I see generations of love, devotion, lineage, friendship and so much more… I see friends of mine from way before I was this highly sought after and regarded thinker & do’er, this cool azz dude from the beach & coast of North Carolina that some now regard as one of the most diversely accomplished black men in the world, a renaissance man in the truest senses of the word, someone whose been featured in over 30 press features (<—but still not authentically verified on @instagram - 🤦🏾‍♂️🙄🤷🏾‍♂️), someone who they say is the “Governor of Atlanta”, “Heartbeat of Atlanta”, “HIMothy”, someone whose spoken under the golf dome at the capital on the “Rebranding of the Black Man” etc, etc…. I see in these photos people who have loved me for 20, 30 & 40 years…These pictures inform you of why when asked how I’m doing, I reply with the words, “I’m a grateful soul whose active, lit & with the shyts.” I’m so grateful for ALL the people who have loved me when I was high or low, even when I was less than myself, they always even then knew I would be so much more….This was such a fun trip!! Growing up on the coast & living inland, I don’t aspire as much for tropical adventures, I just want to go home….I get the beach, one of the best riverfronts in America AND I get my mama’s food, daddy’s smile and frown and the love and adoration of people i’ve known my whole life!!
