I'm so grateful to train these women at @effectfitness 😭. Their consistency and commitment inspires me! All down double digits since the beginning of the year while hitting new PRs! Your 40s aren’t the problem. Your strategy might be. If you want to get stronger, here’s where to start: 1. Lift heavier than you think. If you can easily do 15+ reps, it’s too light. Aim for a weight that challenges you at 8 to 12 reps with good form. 2. Train with intention 3x/week. You don’t need daily workouts. You need focused ones. Prioritize compound movements like squats, presses, and rows. 3. Eat enough protein. Undereating will hold you back. Aim for at least ~25 to 35g of protein per meal to support muscle. 4. Slow it down. Control your reps. Especially on the way down. That’s where strength is built. 5. Stay consistent (this is the one). Stop restarting every Monday. Give it 4 to 6 weeks of consistency before judging your progress. This is exactly how I coach my clients to get stronger, more confident, and more capable in their 40s and beyond. Save this so you actually follow through. #healthyaging #strengthtraining #fitover40 (I'm older than all of my clients 🙃)

I don't like disruptions to my schedule but I will always adjust. Active shooter in Cobb County shut down roads and caused the cancellations of my classes. I quickly pivoted and did an outdoor routine at my local park. When obstacles appear, you can give in or dig in. Just know that you always have that choice... 48 years old and still got a good jump game 🙌🏾🙏🏾:

Lately, I’ve noticed something tender surfacing in conversations with women my age, a quiet awareness of mortality. When someone around us passes, especially unexpectedly, it can stir fear, questions, and a deeper reflection on our own lives. In this episode, I’m opening up about mortality anxiety and the emotions that come with realizing time isn’t limitless. Not from a place of fear, but from a place of honesty. Together, we’ll explore what it means to live fully in the face of uncertainty. How do we shift from “what if something happens?” to “how do I want to live right now?” If you’ve been feeling a little more reflective lately, this episode is an invitation to slow down, breathe, and gently reconnect with what truly matters: your presence, your power of choice, and the life you’re actively building today. We’ve been taught to measure our bodies by age. To shrink expectations. To accept limits we never tested. But your body doesn’t recognize a birthday. It responds to how you move, how you train, how you care for it. Movement is more than workouts. ☑️It’s circulation, ☑️ joint health, ☑️ muscle protecting your bones... It’s balance that keeps you independent. It’s strength that carries you into the next decade of your life. Longevity isn’t about doing less as you get older. It’s about training smarter so you can keep doing more. You don’t stop moving because you age. You age faster when you stop moving. Train for what your body can do. Build strength for the life you want to keep living. ✨ Ability over age. Always.

At some point, I stopped looking outward for answers and started reflecting inward. I asked myself how I wanted to spend the second half of my life. What actually excited me. What felt aligned instead of just acceptable. I learned that it’s okay to walk away from what feels comfortable if it no longer feels true. Comfort can be quiet, familiar, and safe… but alignment is what brings energy, purpose, and fulfillment. This pivot wasn’t reckless or impulsive. It was intentional. I paid off debt. I created a realistic schedule. I learned to live within my means. I built structure so I could protect the freedom to do what I love every day. Chasing alignment doesn’t mean ignoring reality. It means preparing for it with clarity and courage. If you’re reading this, I invite you to pause and ask yourself honestly: Are you happy, or just used to how things are? You don’t need to burn everything down to change your life. But you do need to get clear, get honest, and take one aligned step forward. The life you want isn’t found by accident. It’s built on purpose.

I come in peace 😌. If exercise hasn’t been part of your routine, you’re not broken. You’re not lazy. And you’re definitely not alone. So many people want to move their bodies but don’t know where to start, feel intimidated, or think they have to “get fit first.” You don’t. You just need a safe place, a real guide, and permission to begin exactly where you are. If you want to work out with me, virtually or in person, drop a 🙌 and I’ll DM you the details.
