Making this startup sequence for Pepsi's Smart Can was crazy.
From my After Effects taking years to preview or the team animating over 92 looping assets, while keeping stroke widths consistent between precomps...crazy, but totally worth it!
I learned that you can animate the 3D space of a 2D precomp using essential properties, which is how the zoom sequence works.
Had tons of fun watching influencers react to the final Smart Can (a real-life LED can) - you can see those reactions and more on @pleasecallmechamp website (killer site btw).
Thanks to Champ for bringing me onto his gorgeous cyberpunk design vision, and shoutout to the motion stars @madrooom , @tucker.tag , and @mhlin828 who helped divide and conquer all those GFX assets.

I love this project, but the theme is so grim and heavy.
The brief was aware of that, so one of the main asks was to make it feel lighter, but bolder, the message still needs to hit hard u know.
This 9x16 adaptation is one of a pair of videos we made in 2023. The goal was to increase awareness about substance abuse among teenagers and young adults. The campaing aired in pre-movie theater ads, mostly in the Riverside County.

Had a blast these past three days with the @anymotionfestival community. Nothing beats a̶ ̶J̶e̶t̶2̶h̶o̶l̶i̶d̶a̶y̶ meeting up people face-to-face, making friends and just chill out.
Here's an old test about After Effects, not-so-new Text Methods. Pretty cool but pretty heavy, I hope it gets optimized as time goes
@madrooom set me on a journey to make Chamfer/Fillet edges inside AE, and it worked. At first I tried using merge paths, but nothing beats createPath() and some math (90% of the credits to Claude 🙏)

Using Gradient Stokes + Trim Paths + Dashes + Tapper + Waves. I wanted to see how far I could push a faux 3D cylinder using only stroke dashes

I found this free 15-year-old Plugin called Sinedots 2, made by Philipp Spoeth.
I plugged it into shape layers, using their size to drive the animation. It's pretty fun
