Ahh, I finally brought Johnny Graves The 50s Heartbreaker to life! This was Mayâs 7th zombie, but unfortunately some items got lost in the mail. Iâm sooo happy I can finally share this awesome zombie with you all! đ¤

For the @mostlydeaddotcom Cosplay May challenge, #mdmc26may I became one of my all time favorite baddies of horror....

I had to edit in some backgrounds to completely sell the crawling from TV illusion. This was very much an all or nothing project. I couldn't just look like her, I needed to BE HER. And that is what cosplay is all about.
This movie scared the crap out of me as a kid, when I could still be jolted by horror movies. It also paved the way for new unsettling film styles and SFX practicality, and rewrote what a "slow lurking" villian should be. I needed to do this one justice. She is responsible for my favorite kind of paint jobs. Where the right amount of ghastly appearance with some really stacked textures leaves you DISGUSTING looking. I was super happy to be able to embody her for a day. If you can't meet your idols, just become them.
This makeup was all airbrush and hand painted. And I made and distressed her nightgown. Went back to my roots using: @mehronmakeup (that's "MEH-RON"đ¤Ş)

I remember when I saw thriller for the first time and saw @therickbaker amazing work. From the prosthetics to the paintwork and intricate details in all of the zombies and the werecat. As a child, I could not believe that you could make monsters for a living. From then on I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
