"For this 'April Showers' entry, I’ve interpreted the prompt as a literal toxic downpour that bridges the gap between life and decay. My character is a victim of a corrosive, neon-green acid rain that has fundamentally altered their biology, leaving them suspended in a state of half-dead and half-alive."

“April showers now bring floods of puddles rampant with murky films and runoff. I always imagined looking into puddles and seeing creatures staring back. One day, I poked one with my umbrella. What if I fell in? Time to dive in and let the chemically induced visions begin!”

“I present ‘Puddle Guppy Dragon Queen.’ Toxic gook transformed her from a guppy to a horned ruler of the gutters. She got that nasty scar from a girl's umbrella... so she yanked me in, stole my raincoat, and now she wants payback! 🤪👍”

We love how she hand-painted the @mostlydeaddotcom prosthetic and added oil slick beads to mimic chemical runoff.

We’re absolutely obsessed with this literal take on “Raining Cats and Dogs” by the talented Kaarina Packer (@kaarinabeane ) for our April Showers challenge! 🐾☔️

This incredible application took about 4 hours to complete. Kaarina used liquid latex and tissue paper to build up the “skin” for the scratches, ensuring they followed a top-down motion to mimic the fallout of a cat and dog storm. She used an Athena Palette for depth and finished the look with Mehron’s bright arterial blood and wet hair for that perfect caught-in-the-rain effect. We love the creativity and dedication that went into this piece!
