Last year, I was on a panel alongside @dimiyei @ikennaebue @obinna_okerekeocha at the All Africans Indie Film Festival @allafricansindiefilmfestival . I stood before a room full of men and asked a simple question which at the heart of it was me asking: “How many of us are actually okay?” Before the weight of it settled, a voice replied: “Out of the three depressed men you mentioned… I’m one of them.” We all laughed. But I’ve learned that for many men, laughter isn’t joy—it’s a shield. A way to carry pain without language, pressure without release, and expectations without support. Many men aren’t living. THEY’RE ENDURING!!! Showing up from survival while quietly falling apart within. In Nigeria, millions battle depression and many of them are men who will never say it out loud. Men who provide, protect, and perform… but never process. And over time, that silence speaks. Even the ones who make us laugh aren’t exempt. Remember Robin Williams? At the end of our conversation that day, Ike Nnaebue said: “We need to get a therapist in here.” Because awareness isn’t enough. Men need structure. Men need space. Men need real help. That’s why Fathers & Sons was born. Not just a gathering—but a response. A space for honesty, challenge, and rebuilding with clarity and truth. This time, among other things, a licensed psychotherapist will be present and offering real guidance for silent battles. April 18, 4PM-6PM | Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria Closed. In-person. Intentional. If you know what it means to carry more than you can explain, you already understand why this matters. Register NOW!!! Link in bio

Great to be back @harvardhbs for the 2nd time in just over 2 years courtesy of @hbsabc .This time specifically discussing investing in African film on a distinguished panel with two incredible ladies @tshepiso14 , CEO of Known Associates in S.A and @thebeverlynaya , Movie star and Film Producer . The session was expertly moderated by Rhodes Scholar, Tech and Film Entrepreneur @jeffreyfasegha . I am really grateful to have the opportunity to speak about the industry to an ever keen audience but also to be in the position to present the enormous prospects for the continent despite the persistent challenges. It is certainly only a matter of time now for Africa to take its rightful place in the global arena of film business. #nilegroup #Niletotheworld #Filmbusiness #africanfilmbusiness #hbsabc2026

From the first conversation to the last handshake, our CNIC, @mosesbabatope , led the way, turning bold ideas into action, and ambition into reality The day unfolded with UIP- United International Pictures, @universalpictures x @paramountpics partners in high-level strategy sessions, mapping the future of storytelling and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. As the sun set, those same conversations flowed into an evening dinner with key industry leaders and influencers, where connections were made, stories were shared, and plans for the future took shape. This is what leadership looks like: inspiring, relentless, and unapologetically ambitious. For @thenileentertainment , this is only the beginning. The journey continue, and there’s no stopping us now. #UIP #nileentertainment #paramountpictures #universalpictures

During our spotlight interview series with Moses Babatope, CEO of Nile Entertainment Group, he shared a view that feels increasingly relevant today: Nollywood’s growth in the next decade may depend on locally built digital platforms and stronger industry collaboration. For years, global streamers like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Showmax were seen as failproof pathways for films to reach audiences locally and globally. But as their investment strategies in the region evolve, the industry is starting to rethink how its films reach audiences. Interestingly, this shift is happening alongside the emergence or repositioning of local platforms like Kava, EbonyLife OnPlus, Faith Streams, and Circuits Streams. Together, they signal a growing realization: Nollywood’s next frontier may be owning more of its distribution. Cinema will remain important, but the bigger question for Nollywood’s future may not just be where films premiere, it’s who controls how they reach audiences. Please share your thoughts in the comments, if the last decade was about global streamers discovering and backing Nollywood, what would the next decade look like of growth look like?

Over the years, I’ve watched Omotola remain fiercely committed to her family while continuing to push the Nigerian film industry forward with passion and purpose. Her consistency, grace, and dedication have always stood out. Fifteen years ago in London, our paths first crossed at the Leicester Square premiere of Amina. I was part of the team putting the event together, and that night marked my very first encounter with the incredible Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. Our first interaction? Let’s just say it started off a little intense. But over time, that moment grew into something far more meaningful, a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values around social impact, and a deep love for storytelling. So, it’s incredibly special to see things come full circle with the West African cinema release of her directorial debut, Mother’s Love, perfectly timed with International Women’s Day weekend and celebrating 30 years of her remarkable presence on our screens. I had the privilege of seeing Mother’s Love, and I can honestly say Omotola shines powerfully both behind and in front of the camera. It’s a moving, heartfelt story that speaks to audiences everywhere, emotional, relatable, and beautifully told. The team at Nile Entertainment and I are deeply grateful for the trust Omotola has placed in us from the very beginning of this journey. This weekend, do yourself a favor guys, head to the cinemas and experience Mother’s Love. It’s a story that truly deserves to be seen. #MothersLove #NileEntertainment

Nicholas, this wasn't the plan, my G, but God knows best. I saw wifey, the mums, our sisters and brother-in-law today, and everyone is trying to understand why you, why now. This one is so hard to shake off. So I won't get those office visits and experience praise and worship led by you or be sure Morning prayers at work will happen or get advice from you anymore? Wow! So whilst we ushered in a new relationship you prophesied about this week, you just showed face and took off to heaven like that sha! Nicholas na wa o.....Love you forever, Brother.
