Album of the week is by new jazz underground: A superb album full of excellent tunes for the dancefloor. Available on bandcamp in digital format and vinyl. Their bandcamp site also features many of their other releases, well worth a visit.
Impossible Conversations, Birmingham's newest hottest, jazz group to hit the Midlands jazz scene. The band had a fantastic stage presence with the funkiest Dancing bass player ive seen for a long time.
A musical repertoire that was outstanding and highly entertaining. The band played to a packed audience in which is yet another success for Mr Dave Fuller at Music Spoken Here The Marrs Bar, Worcester. He is singlehandedly bringing world class, exciting, boundary pushing jazz to Worcester.

Impossible Conversations are five lads from Birmingham making their mark on the contemporary jazz world. Each of these young musicians bring their unique musical background and a combined love of jazz to create a sound that is both familiar, fresh and truly special with every performance.
The band are already getting some great gigs around the West Midlands and played Mostly Jazz Funk & Soul Festival in 2024.
The lineup includes Louis Hamilton-Foad (son of guitarist Paul Foad and grandson of the late saxophonist Andy Hamilton) on drums, Gabriel Amann (son of pianist Tim Amann, who played for us with Butcher’s Brew in July 2024) on trumpet, Sam Sharpe on bass, Alex Smith on keys and Ben Carter on sax.

It was jazz heaven last night watching the @emilyfrancistrio at the @marrs_barmusic in Worcester. Organised by @musicspokenhere . Trio Emily Francis - Keyboards, Trevor Boxall - bass and Jamie Murray - Drums were creative, tight, progressive and played with humour. The playing individually was off the scale, they are all such accomplished musicians.
They have a fantastic new EP out and albums that can be purchased from their bandcamp site below.
On tour at the moment go and see them you won’t be disappointed.
