DISSOLUTIONS Sequence II On 22 May 2026, join us at Kunst Raum Mitte as we open the second sequence of our annual program DISSOLUTIONS with a solo exhibition by @mooniperry . For the first time in Europe, Perry’s video installation EL (2025) will be presented . Combining cinematic staging, music and historic materials, the exhibition traces historical entanglements between Korea, Northeast China and Japanese colonial rule through dreamlike encounters and shifting temporalities. Centered around the former Yamato Hotel in Shenyang, the video reflects on migration, displacement and the lingering traces of violence embedded within places and their histories – while AFSAR @afsar_asianfeministstudio uses the exhibition space for their collaborative research practice. DISSOLUTIONS explores processes of dissolving and reformulating historical, political and spatial narratives. In resonance with the program, Mooni Perry’s practice engages with speculative fiction, feminist readings of history, collective research and the afterlives of memory across East Asian contexts. The exhibition is accompanied by a series of events expanding on these themes through screenings, conversations, collective reading and performance. #Repost @doosanartcenter_gallery with @use.repost ・・・ ㅤ 무니페리 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻𝗶 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆 무니페리는 의례와 서사를 통해 공동체의 기억과 사회 구조 사이의 긴장을 보여주는 작가다. 그의 작업은 존재하지만 쉽게 포착되지 않는 인물들을 중심으로 전개된다. 전시 참여작 〈Missing〉(2024)은 ‘사라짐’이라는 상태를 따라가는 작업이다. 이 작업은 대만 지역의 민간 신앙과 유령 서사, 그리고 현대 사회의 제도적 시스템이 교차하는 지점을 포착하며, 보이지 않는 존재들이 어떻게 기억되고 망각되는지를 질문한다. 단순한 기록에 머무르지 않고, 실종을 둘러싼 감정적·정치적 층위를 함께 드러내며 개인의 상실 경험이 집단적 기억으로 전환되는 과정을 탐색한다.〈Missing〉은 ‘찾을 수 없음’을 고정된 결말로 제시하기보다 끊임없이 생성되는 이야기의 장으로 풀어낸다. 동아시아 지역에서의 조사와 인터뷰, 신화적 서사와 개인적 경험이 중첩되면서, 무엇이 왜 사라졌는지를 명확히 규정하지 않은 채 상실 이후의 감각과 기억, 정체성의 흔들림을 드러낸다. 이 작업은 ‘실종’을 결핍이 아닌 또 다른 생성의 조건으로 바라보며, 보이지 않는 것과 남겨진 것 사이에서 새로운 서사와 감각의 가능성을 모색한다. Mooni Perry uses ritual and narrative to reveal the tension between collective memory and social structures. The work 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 (2024), follows the condition of disappearance. The work captures points where folk beliefs, ghost narratives, and contemporary systems intersect in specific regions of Taiwan, asking how invisible presences are remembered and forgotten. Moving beyond mere documentation, it reveals the emotional and political dimensions surrounding disappearance, while tracing how personal experiences of loss transform into collective memory. Ultimately, 𝘔𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 presents the state of being unfound not as a fixed conclusion, but as an endlessly generative field of narrative. Through overlapping research and interviews across East Asia, mythological storytelling, and personal experience, the work refrains from defining what has disappeared or why. Instead, it evokes the instability of memory, identity, and perception after loss. In this way, the artist regards disappearance not as absence but as a condition for new creation, revealing a journey that seeks the possibility of new narratives and sensibilities between what is invisible and what remains. 이동하는 신성에 대하여, 2026.04.22 그 두 세계 사이를 오가며 살 수만 있다면 세상을 먼저 사랑하고 그 후에 신을 사랑하며 그 두 세계 사이를 오가며 살 수만 있다면 세상을 먼저 사랑하고 그 후에 신을 사랑하며 -Sexo, Violencia y Llantas, Rosalia 우리는 어떻게 사람을 사랑하고 사랑을 사랑할 수 있을까? 내가 근 몇년간 공부하고 있는 이동하는 신성이란 첫째로는 이민자들에 의해 옮겨진 신들과 정착지의 신 주변에 모이는 커뮤니티. 둘째로는 신들의 순례와 인간의 순례. 신들은 절에 가만히 있는 존재가 아니라 다른 절들과 주변 지역, 혹은 다른 나라를 돌아다니는 존재. 셋째로는 민속신앙의 여신들이 제도화된 종교의, 예를 들면 기독교의 여자 성인으로 흡수변형되는 경우들을 의미해. 하지만 작게로는 신성의 이동이란 신이 주변 다른 이들을 통해 내게 오는 것. 내가 오늘 만난, 걱정하는 너의 얼굴로 편의점에서 모르는 이에게 받은 뜻밖의 다정함으로 사원을 늘 지키고 있는 노년 여성에게서 절 앞에서 꽃을 파는 여성의 모습으로 혹은 까만 다리로 구걸을 하는 행인의 모습으로. 결국 마녀와 성녀와 신은 멀지 않은 것이고 역시 귀신 인간 신도 연결되어 있는 존재라고 생각해. 오늘 네게 로잘리아의 Magnolias를 이 편지의 마침표로 보내고 싶어. 마주 순례길에 있는 네가 함께걷는 주변의 이들에게서 매순간 마주를 만나기를.

Traversing themes of movement, memory, divinity, and diaspora, the program traces the work’s point of departure alongside its processes of research and travel, unfolding a narrative centered on the concept of “Diasporic Divinity.” It also reflects on “sainthood” in a contemporary context, drawing reference from 𝘓𝘶𝘹, an album by Rosalía.

I’m happy to be part of this upcoming exhibition. I will be presenting a new video installation <The Oracle>, a two channel video work, 20 minutes in duration, together with seven fairies plates crafted in Hong Kong. This work is a culmination of my three month residency in Hong Kong last year. The opening will take place on 20 March at 18:30, and there will be a walkthrough on 21 March at 15:00.
