Extremely stoked to be playing a @softshoulder.softshoulder show again! It’s been a little over a year and a half since we debuted the trio version composed of @jamesfella , Micah, and me. Playing in SS over the last 7 or so years has been one of the most exciting & satisfying artistic outlets of my life. Couldn’t be happier to be cooking again! We’re play at Wooden Tooth tomorrow evening with the legendary, @_____neptune_____ .
Also, we will have copies of this CD “Smudge On Kill” at the show. Composed of one new 30-second song and three practice tape recordings of us poking at songs both recent and ancient.

Today we’re beyond stoked to share two new Simon Joyner & The Nervous Star releases! These ones are extremely sick…but as a few of the titular ‘Nervous Stars’ ourselves, we’re definitely very biased 🫢 We’ll let you guys decide.
First off, we have a 7 inch featuring our rendition of Bob Dylan’s “I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine” and Lou Reed’s “I’m Set Free”. We’ve been cooking on this one for quite some time, and we’re so incredibly proud of how they turned out. All the art and layout for this release was crafted by our dear friend Tanner of @_geekusa .
And second, a CD-R with 6 more Lou & Bob tunes! We had so much fun working on the 7” project and the process just naturally kept asking for more. Just listened again this morning, and wow…such a fun batch of tunes.
Caleb and me are going on tour with @simonjoynermusic and friends in just a few weeks. For Bandcamp Friday and the next few weeks (but especially *today* because it helps a ton), all the proceeds for these two offerings (+ a tour exclusive t-shirt) will go towards van rental, gas, and any necessary hotels. In line with all the topics I was trying to explore on “AGE,” here I am still searching to come to terms with myself (a human person in 2024). Over the last few months, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to receive any sort of nod of recognition for something I have created.
What does it do to me?
The mental wrestle of equally pining for it and hating how much I desire it.
Today I’ll try to sit in gratitude.
Tomorrow I’ll likely become the monster.
