Last weekend, we were honoured to have Reza Nik from @sheeep.studio join us in thinking about learning, creating, and existing outside institutional boundaries. Reza, his partner Dana, along with 3 other cofounders of @sheeep.school , are directing their efforts towards a more accessible and collaborative approach to art, architecture and education. Thank you Reza, Dana and Umi for making the trip from Toronto to visit us and share in this expo. The audio of this talk will soon be up on our websiteđŸȘ„ Thank you @bandesonore.studio for recording our discussion đŸŽ›ïžđŸ©”đŸȘœ 🌿📾Thank you Yael for capturing this moment. @rezaniik @dana___prieto @sheeep.school @sheeep.radio @conseilartsmtl

đŒ đ’čđ’Ÿđ‘’đ’č, 𝑜𝓃𝒾𝑒 Images on silk, expanded polyurethane, tracing paper, ink jet prints, found objects, archival images. A glimpse at my most recent and ongoing work made @radio28cs in the heart of my hometown, Mexico City. In 2020, while researching my family history, I found a document stating that my paternal grandfather, who was still living at the time, had died in 1934. My project, I died once, began with this incident, which initiated a series of discoveries about my history as family members shared with me photographs and documents presenting me with multiple histories, not all of which matched the stories I had been told. This research became a way for me to connect with family abroad. I began conceiving of a body of work: a personal archival project concerned less with “facts” than with speculative histories, intergenerational gestures, and healing through an understanding of one’s own narrative. With the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, @canada.council , @bchoclit , @tal.frank , @arleenecorreavalencia , @alexdorfsman Michael Pace. đŸ€ #bringingtheartstolife

the idea behind the visuals for crying was to make some kind of warped ‘makeup tutorial’ vibe, with a weird ‘reveal’ this transformed into some type of modern renaissance look does this make any sense? i love this song, i hope you do too Visuals: Directed by @monsemuro DOP + color by @kestagney HMU by @jesscohen____ Styling by @caroetchart Accessories by @amsoucy Edit by moi thx to @canada.council for the support

✹ Documentation par @monsemuro ‱ The turnout and support we recieved for our 4th edition have been overwhelming in the most beautiful way. With tangibility and locality in mind, we partnered with Yannick, founder of Atelier Écluse to bring our idea of a printed publication to life. Yannick’s practice insists on traditional methods, on the hand-made, the human. More than before, making space for time-honoured techniques is an important form of resistance, algorithmic and otherwise. If you’re here, we hope this is something we can think on together. Merci @atelier.ecluse ✹
