Christmas came early - finally received my copies of the Bridges EP, the 10th and final run in the DIME-series of lathe cuts👀 All copies come with a high quality print of four different shots captured by @hammarstroem ! Thank you Pontus for your amazing work on this stunning artwork🤍 Overwhelmed by the support I've received with these tracks. A massive thank you to everyone who's been buying, playing, sharing and listening to the EP!! I've reached crowds and dancefloors I could've never imagined just one year ago. My next EP 'Misperceptions' is finally set to be released this wednesday!! Everyone who knows me knows that I've been waiting for this day for quite some time now. Shortly after releasing 'Hollow' on Terrorhythm in 2019 I was contacted by Will and Jules from @programmldn to make an EP, which turned into one of my most exciting projects I've done. Through many creative conversations it turned into a collaborative work of sorts, where Will and Jules helped me to navigate through my ideas and emotions to nudge me into a direction that helped me express those feelings sonically. Connecting that creative process together with graphical genius @alfie_allen_ was also an incredibly exciting process and I couldn't be happier with the end result that he shaped together with the so so talented @__blackwall !! Here we are four years later and I'm very proud to finally get to announce my first piece of music on 12" vinyl. The sound on this one is slightly different than what you've heard from me lately, but very much in the same realm of my previous release on Programm, 'High Speed Rail/Interpret Me', and everything I've been playing in my sets the last couple years. Pre-orders are up on Bandcamp or at your favourite record distributor. DIME010 - Additional take-outs by photographer @hammarstroem and reflecting notes by @mod.sens “For the artwork of this release, it was only natural to focus on capturing the industrial essence of Malmö, while drawing on vibrant elements to meet the colourful yet cold soundscapes as found on the EP. Although our eyes were especially drawn to Beijer’s Bridge for its bright red hue and geometrically playful appearance (and simply for being a bridge), we gathered a lot of material that would be a shame to leave out. These are some of the take-outs that were drawn to our attention. All pictures were captured in the central-west docks area of Malmö, an area in current re-shaping with a focus on re-imagining industrial structures in an urban living-environment. As for the music, the fundamental idea of the EP was very much centred around the core of the label; dubstep, dark garage and breaks inspired by the early sound of the new millennium. This comes quite natural to me as my approach to production has always been to push things forward with contemporary tools and sounds while paying attention to the founding structures of the genres and soundscapes I move within. However, the word Bridges also came to be a guiding concept throughout the creation of the EP – in part to form a bridge between contemporary bass music and sounds of the FWD era, but also as a concept to sonically illustrate the geographic distance between myself and where the scene is largely taking place. Being an “agent” of UK style sounds in the south of Scandinavia, where other sounds are historically more prominent, should result in a different sounding output. While I personally find it hard to judge if that’s the case, I still find it important to try to conceptualize that idea in my productions. In the world of internet and globalism where accessibility to music is essentially infinite, geographically rooted sounds and scenes are to some extent in decay. As such I want to reflect on how I’m creatively influenced by my surroundings and direct that into my music. Hopefully there are parts of this to be found on the EP, or perhaps it’s for further exploration – the intention is there nonetheless"
