@carnitasramireznyc is all about the pig, the whole pig and nothing but the pig. You can find one of my favorite bites of 2025 here: the Surtida. It is billed as a little bit of everything, and that’s because it is, as nearly all parts of the pig—the slow-cooked shoulder to the curl of the tail—are found in one tortilla. The result is a crispy skin in one bite, followed by a gelatinous fatty bit in the other. 🐽 Read more about my best bites in my bio. #newyork #nyceats #carnitasramirez #nyctacos #eastvillagenyc

Backed with a @saga_nyc pedigree, chef India Doris now runs her own show at @marketterestaurant , a serene and stylish dining hall where her Caribbean and English heritage come out to play. Among the incredibly rich 24-hour braised oxtail gratin dish, the grilled prawn with an orange-y sungold tomato sauce and puffed chili crisp was one of my favorite dishes of 2025. The last sip of a margarita spells one of two things: another round or the check (it could also spell a third thing: the floor). But lucky for you, this cocktail on the Lower East Side tastes like the best bit of the drink. It called the Saltair, and it’s found at @barcontranyc Read up on how I tried the “saltiest” cocktail on the Lower East Side. #newyork #newyorkbars #barcontra #lowereastside

@timeoutmarketunionsquare is finally here! This easily is one of the largest projects I’ve worked on to date. To see it start from a series of emails and so (so) many phone calls to be standing among a full house last night was incredible to see. For me, the most fulfilling part was getting a chance to connect with our chefs and get a chance to tell their stories and their journey through food. I’ve been so privileged to be a part of the process. ❤️ I was too excited to take a ton of pictures, but more to come! But please join me in saying hello the Time Out Market Union Square. #timeoutnyc #timeoutmarket #timeoutmarketunionsquare

Just a few weeks ago, we got word from a little birdie (a.k.a. the internet) that the @thaidiner team was cooking up something special. Turns out, when they closed their beloved Uncle Boons Sister in 2020—a casual spin-off from their wildly successful restaurant, Uncle Boons, which also shuttered in the same year—they retained the keys to the space. All these years later, and the team is finally back at the 203 Mott Street. And the name of the game? Chicken fingers, baby. @mommypais is now open. Get the combo ($20) for chicken tenders cooked your way, a dipping sauce and a side (the rice and beans was 👌🏽). If you order the combo, you can add on a frozen for $3 more. Oh, and there are swirls of Thai tea and condensed milk soft serve by the cone or cup, which is the best way to say goodbye to summer. #nyc #thaidiner #nolita #nyceats

Do you remember that one skit in “Portlandia” where Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein encouraged that everything can be art if you just put a bird on it? Sam Saverance seems to speak the same language. But instead of birds, his mantra is that any food, if you really try, can be Sloppy Joe, uttering the phrase, “You can slop anything.” And slop everything he has, as Saverance has opened New York’s (and quite possibly, America’s) first Sloppy Joe-themed restaurant with @sloppyjoesusa #nyc #nyceats #bedstuy

Inspired by the transit hub in which chef Dhanapol “Oak” Marprasert grew up, his latest restaurant, @samsaenthai , is intended to take you on a journey. With an interior fashioned like a train car, and menus cheekily named “Coach Car” and “First Class Lounge,” the food balances Thai street eats in one hand while simultaneously pushing the cuisine forward in another. #samsaen #nycdining #nyceats #hudsonyardsnyc
