Seaweed and mud orchestra ✨️ @dan.vlcek & @mnaulabs improvised in their installation and played with cables and sensors. They bringed a mud, watter and seaweed from an expedition from Venice and connected it to their installation as living technology. They asked me to help them with styling so I used some @noctum_studio green latex pieces, Dan was wearing a Laborafory shirt as they are creating some kind of laboratorium and I also added some strings to connect with their cables obsession. They have become part of their installation 💛

DOOM DOOM DOOM,
MICROBIAL ZOOM
(Nerez, senzory, mikroelektronika, solenoidy, borosilikát, krystal, biomateriál, sediment z benátské laguny, mořské
řasy a rostliny)
2024-2026
Instalace pracuje Doom Doom Doom, Microbial Zoom s aktivním sedimentárním
biomateriálem odebraným z Benátské laguny, uzavřeným ve skleněných tělech fungujících
jako autonomní mikroekosystémy. Materiál obsahuje mikrobiální život, mořské řasy,
mikrokorýšea kořenové struktury a rostliny typických pro lagunové prostředí slaných
mokřadů např. Statice (Limonium), Slanorožec (Salicornia), Hvězdnička slanistá (Aster
tripolium).
Pomocí pump je simulován příliv a odliv, zatímco UVA světla nahrazují sluneční záření.
Systém senzorů průběžně měří pH, teplotu, koncentraci rozpuštěného kyslíku a TDS.
Naměřená data jsou v reálném čase vizualizována a zároveň převáděna do zvuku, tak že
každá změna naměřené hodnoty aktivuje mechanický úder do skleněné trubky, čímž
instalace funguje jako autonomní perkusivní nástroj komponující „mikrobiální operu“ přímo z
biologických a chemických procesů.
Dílo zpřítomňuje mikrobiální děje běžně skryté lidskému vnímání a poukazuje na křehkost
lagunových ekosystémů v kontextu klimatické změny a planetárních procesů.

The original impulse for this artistic, research-oriented, and interdisciplinary exhibition project AMPLIFICATION is a reflection on the way ecological reality reveals itself to us: it is not something external to us, but a tangled network of being that touches our body and mind simultaneously. The project is a direct continuation of Daniel Vlček’s residency in the Venice Lagoon in 2023 and expands to include the work of additional authors and interdisciplinary collaborations. In the initial project @confluencevenezia2024 during the Venice Biennale 2024, Daniel Vlček explored the concept of the “lagoon” as a symbol of a complex ecological superorganism, where the boundaries between culture and nature intermingle, and daily confrontations arise in the relationship between element and being. This multimedia exhibition, on the boundary between site-specific installations and a scientific laboratory, seeks to simulate natural planetary processes as well as to amplify biological and physical processes that shape the transforming environmental conditions of life in the Anthropocene.
Dalším hudebním doprovodem je realtime time hudba generovaná čtením obrazů Dana Vlčka udělátkém z @mnaulabs .

The Sky To Speak remix project, consisting of over an hour and a half of music, 17 projects and 20 tracks, is released by XION after 2 years of patient work. This giant release will be launched in the fresh smelling interior of the reconstructed Punctum by 2 ambassadors of transcendent ambient - synth adventurer Rupert Thomas aka Leaving and local Shakali, whom you may know from the projects Gnäw or Thistle. The Sky To Speak performance itself will be complemented with live programmed visuals by Antonín Gazda aka Mňau Labs from Noise Kitchen.

•Sky to Speak•
Sky to Speak is an ambient music project led by Matěj Kotouček, a musician and sound artist based in PRG. He also co-runs the Noise Kitchen community platform and creates music as part of the electro-acoustic improv duo Thistle. His work moves between cinematic ambient soundscapes and abstract improvisation, using synthesizers alongside acoustic instruments and field recordings. Collaboration plays a central role in his creative practice. His theatrical work spans genres from experimental and physical theater to contemporary drama.
•Leaving•
Leaving is the left-of-centre, electronics project of Rupert Thomas (Erasers), based in Perth, Australia. With a focus on hardware electronics, Thomas conjures immersive worlds of mood-driven synthesizer compositions that range from deep, slow moving ambience, to dense rhythms and hypnotic melodies. In the live realm, Leaving has shared the stage with the likes of Actress, Oneohtrix Point Never etc., sculpting a mesmeric sonic experience through deep drones, atmospheric synth and echoed drum machine interplay.
•Shakali•
Shakali is a solo project of the Finnish musician Simo Hakalisto. In his live-sets Shakali works on the borderline of human expression and machine unpredictability, combining elements of fractal nature-inspired minimalism and experimental ambient. He has been releasing albums on Not Not Fun, Good Morning Tapes etc. exploring a rich palette of ambient soundscapes ranging from modern New Age to spiritual jazz.

@noise.kitchen in collaboration with @hamu_prague_official hosted a workshop for high schoolers on Audio recording and post production.
The whole day was filled with interesting workshops from @cvutfelpraha@hamu_prague_official@panskaspsst .
We are glad to have been apart of this. Seeing young people being introduced to new creative ways to express themselves never gets old.
Thank you @bastlinstruments for your continuous support.
@mnaulabs talking about using PCBs as a canvas for art and showcasing his and @dan.vlcek@artmat_ piece.
A recording from Noise Kitchen Dev:Log 2 event, full recording is on our YouTube channel.
We invite to the next Dev:Log on 3.4., you can find more info on our profile. Register as a speaker through our link in bio.
What is Dev:Log?
Dev:Log is aims to serve as a platform for makers to share their work, connect and discuss their creative-tech projects. Think of it like nerdy show-and-tell.
What kind of projects is Dev:Log about?
Any creative tech project is welcome. You could say that there’s a very loose theme of “art and technology”. Show us your work-in-progress device, your commercially successful product, something you stashed in your drawer years ago and struggle to finish... or anything between.
Noise Kitchen is part of Petrohradská kolektiv.
Thank you Bastl Instruments for your continuous support.
Reflecting on one of the most intricate sound installations I've ever created, made possible only with the amazing collaborators.
"Doom Doom, Microbial Zoom"
The sound sculpture—composed of a stainless steel construction and amorphously shaped vessels—is a literal superorganism. The glass bodies contain water with active biomaterial from the Venetian Lagoon. Pumps simulate tides and UVA bulbs the sunlight, sensors measure pH, temperature, disolved oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Each change in value is recorded on the graphic display and sets off a drumstick that hits the glass rod, or also resonator. It can be interpreted as a percussive musical instrument composing and reproducing the “microbial opera.” We are not only acoustically amplifies the processes and changes in the ecosystem but primarily embodies experience and enables a deep understanding of the processes taking place both in the gallery and in the lagoon. The conceptual and technological aspects of the installation were created in collaboration with sociobiologist @cecconi.giovanni , electrical engineer and experimenter @mnaulabs Antonin Gazda, and multimedia artist @tomaskockacesko
